If the wet weather we have experienced for the last nine months was to be the "normal" I think I would have to pack in.
It's just too miserable and hard work!
Hopefully it's a one off season.
We had 45mm of rain in last 24 hours!!
So I tried to work out the weight of water per acre. Somehow I got to 1111.5 tonnes per acre!! Somehow I must of got it wrong
@Dave W thinks I'm an idiot😃
what is the real weight of water per acre?
I got a message from Mastercard asking me to confirm I had made some payments today with my credit card. Done in Ireland on an ipad apparently. One for £90 to argos today. Anyway I hadn't so they rang me and stopped my card. Apparently two attempts today to use it.
Some business I have rung to...
What's the situation with using a rubber track excavator to do some work on roadside hedges?
I have a large roadside hedge to tree shear. Most I can do from the field side but some would be a lot easier with the digger on the road. It's a 5.5 tonne so a not massive.
I often see roadworks men...
I have never really rigured out the best way to put out a fence with mine.
1. Drive round unreeling wire. Throw posts off whilst travelling. Put corner posts up. Put the reels on the end post. Then walk right round again putting the posts in and wire. Then tension.
2. Drive 50 metres throwing...

I have dab radio in a few vehicles but I find it very poor. Various different aerial styles but all struggle to perform.
In one tractor I use my phone using Internet radio bluetoothed to the radio in the tractor. That seems to be the best system.
Or am I doing something wrong with dab? I thought...
I am struggling to remember our land being this wet at this time of year. January to March perhaps but never the beginning of November. Seems all we get is extreme weather nowadays.

Clones of websites and Facebook accounts etc are getting rife.
And the scammers are getting good at it.
I am at the point where I trust virtually nothing I read. Seen a couple of tractors this morning on Facebook. One was pretty obvious as it was just too cheap. The next was difficult to spot...
Apparently our local Darley Dale branch closed down on Saturday.
Another at Fauld possibly doing the same.
Is it more depots or just the northern ones?
So we have some established docks and thistles etc that I want to get rid of.

Rather have something that will work on all rather than just one weed but does it do as good a job?
We have a decent large brick built with concrete lid septic tank without a soakaway.
Want to get a treatment plant.
The only space really is where the septic tank is.
Options are get a breaker and remove the lid of the tank and use the hole to fit a treatment plant.
Or someone suggested...
Have been hearing of some very high free range egg prices recently.
£4.50 a dozen at many shops and farm shops.
Then I find some wholesalers are wanting that much in bulk!
What's the real story?

Surely these can't be any good? I had an expensive one for many years but was very unreliable. I'm not...
So if the police wi move a vehicle blocking access to a business then I assume they should do the same for farmers if a vehicle blocks a field entrance

I have one of these at the moment but find it a frustrating tool.
The tags jaws are not opened up enough to easily go on the sheep's ears. So,a lot of faffing about trying not to dislodge the tag before closing it up.
I still have the older style...
