We use a suzler piranha macerator pump for similar sort of thing, will chop/pump lumps of silage etc, not cheap about 1200 quid last time I think, get a 3 phase pump if you can.
Used the silostop orange cling film last few years, does seem a bit tougher than cling seal if your taking it on and off a few times, visqueen black sheet on top, heavy net and gravel bags.
Hadn't looked at the price for this year yet tho! Tried the double layer stuff (think silo stop max?)...
Not spread slurry/fym here yet, I'm thinking dirty water on everything and spread slurry after early (for us!) first cut and hope it's gone by 2nd ?:oops:
Sorry wrote that this morning before all the other replies, it's the pitching that bothers me a bit. The rolling is taken care of by the swivel, think tis a choice between a reasonable bit of slop on a draw bar pin or a ball.
It's a torro I'm thinking of, I'll measure up the draw bar on the...
The one I've been quoted for fits in the original slot the drawbar was in, I haven't checked the length yet but if they are prone to breaking I can't see much advantage. Our ground is typical mid Devon if your not going up or down your between the two, which is where the damage gets done.
I know this is a old thread, but I'm considering my options, I've a 8770 I'd like to pull a forage wagon with.
It only has a drawbar (a hefty one at that!) no pick up hitch, the wagon has a swivel hitch on, will I regret dropping the huge pin through and using like that or should I invest in a...
I had the super short chop intake gears for mine, memory bit hazy but I think around 5mm!
I kept the blowing paddles in as well as the serrated paddles and ran everything as fast as it would go, 1150 on the shaft I think, high speed input on the PTO gear box on forager, I always thought a...
I've got 6 serrated paddles and tips I'd sell? Have the serrated plate that goes in the bottom too.
Fit sh40h, have done maize with sh40h 190hp on it about 10 acres a day, you add so much friction to the system it does use quite a bit of diesel.
Will easily do 50-60 acres on grass with same machine.
Was just looking around and found this, we're organic and I use the misery wagon to fill troughs for my bulling heifers.
They've just come off grazing fodder beet and are being AI at the moment I think they could do with a bit more energy and am thinking of getting some rolled barley to chuck...
Run back into a steep grass field I laid up in July , there's loads of nice grass at the moment, not the thatch I was hoping for!
Ad lib hay while they on the beet, will probably move ring feeder into beet field later on.
Heifers going onto fodder beet this afternoon. Chomp chomp crunch!
Nice to stand in sun and watch them pull it up after a few days pulling it up for them in the rain 😀
No the extractor is blowing into the soil pipe, in our case used a 150-100mm reducer, then the pipe has 10mm holes drilled in it to blow down to the calves.
Idea is the breeze stops just before tops of their ears
A bathroom extractor from tool station, they have the m³/HR or litres per min? On the website.

Our calf house isn't very big so one was enough do the job.
There's a garage next to the shed so it draws from dryish air.
Think air...
Made our own out of some soil pipe and the biggest extractor Toolstation had.
Vet commented that we'd not used much antibiotics for pneumonia last year so I think it worked.
Do the sums before you do anything, was a while ago but I think you need to change the air in the shed 4 times a hour...
And she's off! Thanks, I wasn't sure what to do but it seems good value compared to victron stuff.
Gone is my lead acid, have 16 280ah eve cells , we are similar only use 9 units on average, most in the day, if my jaspi1500 heat store hadn't burnt (unused😪) I'd be dumping excess in there!
Not the 3 phase version, we had a bit of a fire and this is to replace the victron multiplus which was one of the victims.
Going to be running with some lipo batteries, a seplos BMS and 22 260w panels, will post what I think of it when it's going 😬
