Our local garage has reduced the number of employees they have and their accountant advised them to change back from a company to a partnership. When they informed the bank (I don't know who they bank with), they immediately closed their account and the process of setting up a new one has taken...
I used a rotary wire brush to take some rust off some metalwork, it caught and jumped into my overall pocket! Fortunately the grinder stalled before it did any damage to me.
Bloke who used to work for my next door neighbour did that and lost part of a leg. Unfortunately, some years earlier he had also lost one of his arms in a PTO shaft!!!! The second accident did finally finish his farming career.
Similar situation here, my Mid Tier ends in December and I can continue everything I want in SFI, which is great - except AB6, which I was hoping to do on an area. @Janet Hughes Defra
Apologies @Two Tone , the summary I was referring to was in the other thread.
Empty seats definitely doesn't look good! Janet was very clear about the SFI being a work in progress and they want to work with farmers to improve the scheme going forward.

Clive has summed up what was said better than I could, I thought he and the NFU chap did a good job on the day.
My recollection is that Janet said that DEFRA has finished work on the new...
I used to really enjoy a drink, but these days it ruins my sleep and leaves me feeling really rough the next day, so just not worth it.
If I have a drink now I'll take some Myrkl , but still limit myself to a couple of drinks.
I've not used insecticides since 2012 and have only ever seen a few small patches of BYDV, not enough to be bothered about. The farm is all No Till and like to think this is why I don't get a problem, I've no idea how someone using tillage would get on without insecticide in this locality...
Quite a bit of grant aided drainage was done here in the 1970's, plastic with no back fill. The subsoil is silty, so it's all long since blocked up. I spend quite a bit of time reconnecting the Victorian system, where it was cut through in the'70's and jetting where it is blocked.
I lent my 9'' angle grinder + keyless nut to a friend, he brought it back complaining the keyless nut was fudging useless and had jammed solid...........................
He had put it back on upside down and then had the disc grab!
I couldn't budge it either.
I used ratchet straps to create the sides in a covered collecting yard some years ago. The stanchions were at 6m spacings, the straps did two bays with nothing holding them on the middle post. The collecting yard had a decent electric backing gate, which would really push the cows up very tight...
