What's the best SFI option to have in the back pocket for disastrous seasons like this. With over 80% of our land still to drill/redrill we are overly reliant on good spring weather, which is risky.
I think it would be sensible to have an SFI option available to us to use in seasons like this...
I have a few mounted machines which sit too close to the rear tracks on our tractor when the lower linkage arms are down.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a cat 3 - three point linkage frame that I can attach to the tractor arms and top link and then connect that to the cultivator...
Whats the best way and most cost effective to transport 1t bags a reasonable distance.
I have been getting a lot of requests for bulk products which we sell, however quite a few of these deliveries are 2hours or more away. The order might be for a 2 1t bags of product, and I dont have a vehicle...
Having never had or even used a drying floor I am thinking about installing one in an existing building. Initially I was thinking about just doing the back section of the building. The building is roughly 25m x 50m so the proposed drying floor area would be roughly 25mx25m. Some of the things I...
Now that ilevel have gone out of business (no suprise they were pretty useless) I am in need of a remote tank monitoring system for 4 fertiliser tanks and a diesel tank.
What options are out there as tbh I am struggling to find what I thought would be a well catered for market.
We have some very light land which usually burns up about this time of year due to lack of moisture. I understand that Hybrid Wheats are supposed to be better in more marginal conditions such as lighter soils or a drier season.
Does anyone have experience with them and want to share their thoughts?
I cant be the only on that sees it.
Spouting on about how what they are doing is the only way to farm profitably, and that everyone else is a moron.
Of course they can also read the future and know what is going to happen and are really not ashamed to tell everyone that this.
No doubt some of...
Anyone else fed up being a cheap store for mills? Keep trying to have loads pushed back because apparently they are full/demand has slumped etc....
Not my problem.
As far as I am concerned that's their risk/management issue when they buy the grain. Thinking a £2/t carry is enough is also a joke...
I'm after someone to verify a machine before transferring payment.
The item is in E Netherlands.
Anybody know anybody out there?
Happy to pay a small fee for services. Just need a set of eyes to confirm the machine is legit.
Anyone running soucy tracks or equivalent? I have a few questions that I would like to ask mostly to do with three-point linkage/drawbar clearance and power sap
Where do people see energy prices in the next 5-10years? Are we now looking at baked in higher costs or are these current prices transient?
I ask as we are looking at a large battery install 200kwh ish and the cost is significant but payback is quick depending on the price of energy.
Theoretically would moddus kill winter beans? Has anyone ever tried it? We have beans which are nearly 3ft tall already. Tempted to try a 10m strip and see.
Sustainability is a good buzz word of the moment within Defra and with an eye on the SFI. Just wondering how sustainable is it to base a no till farming system around a single herbicide? And what happens if this herbicide suddenly isnt available. Makes inversion tillage rather resilient if you...
We have a farm yard located away from the main holding. It currently has no electricity supply but we would like to change this. We have a power line running through the yard but ukpn want between £20-30k for a supply ffs.
Is solar a realistic option?
Not looking for massive supply, enough for...
Are there any Kongskilde Wingjet experts on here or does anyone know where I can get hold of one. Our machine is being more of a pain than normal....which is saying something. I know Kongskilde are no more as a company, but wondered if somebody who used to work on them would be keen to have a...
Looking at planting a row of trees alongside a ditch between two fields. Firstly will this cause issues with leaves blocking the ditch in the Autumn? I would like to plant broadleaved lime trees as I think they would good but reading around it looks like they attract aphids and I don't want this...
The time has come for me to look at changing my truck. Currently have a 60plate hilux which does the job but is getting long in the tooth now. The natural choice would be a new hilux but I must say I'm not overly inspired by it. The problem is any other pickup is always going to fall short of...
Been thinking about a small scale AD plant. Bare with me! We dont have any livestock and are a cropping farm only. We have solar power already and dont really have a demand for the power (although heat may be useful) We do have a few gas mains running through the farm although not near our...
