Going back into maize silage this year (about 60 acres) so will be building an extra clamp. Having disposed of all the old tyres from when we stoped maize 6 years ago I am looking at alternatves. In the past we have also used straw bales on top but not a cheap option this year!

Finished our spray store just before harvest and it has a steel personel door with Hooply lock and door handle. I wish to swap the lock for one with a combination so that the chem suppliers can gain access without a key. anyone else done this and where can you get the parts?

We are trying a bit of forage rye this year as an experiment. No clamp for chopped grass so it will be baled. When would people suggest cutting it ? I was thinking of when it was just splitting boot for max biomass
