Always thought Draft control was to keep a constant load on the tractor!
If your field was say sand from one end to the other and dead flat you probably wouldn’t need it on but if like round here it varies so much if you have it full on it dives in on the sand and tries to lift out on the clay...

Must admit that it has had a bit of welding but the breakback is pretty non existent, more of a bendback than breakback!
Got a B508 with levers, has been a good trimmer, only downsides are the levers and no power slew.
Mine doesn’t have independent hydraulics either, but works well enough.
Could be wrong but a 608 looks identical to a 508 apart from a longer arm which may not be so good down very narrow lanes!
