Good morning all, I am replying OBO Silostop (I am an employee!) , silage sheets come in a range of shapes sizes qualities and price points and of course you will know which system suits you best.
I just wanted to just mention the elements of Silostop which puts them in the premium end of the...
I think there is wiggle room on the prices - they need to have x number on the road to be able to sell the rest of the range so they have an incentive to do a deal.
Haven't had the time to read the whole thread but I have recently got a Suzuki Across - it's a Rav4 with a Suzuki badge. It's a 4x4 hybrid with a battery that you can charge.
I would struggle to find a better car of any sort, ticks all the boxes and is plenty fast.
They have some better deals...
Yes, I was a participant on the Challenge of Rural Leadership run by the Worshipful Company of Farmers. They were exceptionally generous in their time and support and the course was excellent (I still recall many parts of it).
They are a very interesting organisation with some incredible roots...
This an excellent article by Mr Temple. https://www.angliafarmer.co.uk/2023/05/22/how-uk-farms-could-power-homes-and-businesses/
Biogas plants have much potential in the dairy sector - provided they are built from the farms ability and resources backwards.
Tried to tag Mr T but no luck.
I would really recommend student halls for year one (like a giant version of a Travelodge for students run by the university/private company OBO the university) - low hassle good way to mix with people etc. I would imagine quite expensive though.
Moving into a house is something you might do...

I haven't seen a 'shiny' asphalt floor like that - does it have aggregate in it?
The ability to sculpt the floor to assist the drainage is one of asphalt's biggest advantages.
Yes - you cant use normal HRA on a silage clamp floor it must be limestone free (or acid resistant) either way silage clamp specific - https://arkagriculture.com/asphalt-bases-for-silage-clamps/

They make OK silage clamps - but beware of overloading.
Your biggest challenge might be that they slip against the base so maybe tie them into the clamp somehow, could you put concrete paving around them outside the wall? I won't mention the Environment Agency but they could argue that you are...
Bit of a curveball - have you asked him what he wants? You might find he wants to be left alone to do X Y or Z (but no one has ever asked him and he is scared to ask himself), get it in writing as a job description - you could then tailor a part of the business to meet these tasks which removes...
Would be happy to help (the ARK sloping wall system works well against earth banks) I can talk you through the SEPA regas as well which are worth considering.
