I don't wish to start another "What................" thread, but what are peoples views on these 2 machines, which will be 3-6 yrs old.
I have taken on a fair bit more land and need to upgrade my 30' CR9080 for the next size up. Trying to cut 2100 acres, for 9 customers, of which 1700 acres will...
Starting cutting linseed tomorrow. Looks like a decent week forecast so could get it baled if there was demand / viable price
Will start with the chopper on, 500ac to go at PM me if you‘re a buyer
@Derrick Hughes @Clever Dic ?
Hi all. New to this. I would be very interested in people’s opinion on growing wheat after grass. I currently do a land swap with a local farmer who grows ready grass and horsage. The first 3 year let has just ended on the first block of land. It’s heavy clay which was rank with blackgrass...
Reading other peoples horror stories about harvest elsewhere on the forum, I'm minded to keep my head down as things don't seem too bad here. It's not been a record breaking harvest (and we've still got a fair bit of spring wheat to cut), but things haven't gone too badly and it's been a cheap...

When our 750a was new we fitted air bleeds to the drill to try and prevent seed bouncing out the slots. We only had them on for a short time because some seed came out of the bleed hole rather than going down to the coulter. It was rather annoying because we had shortened the pipes to fit them...
Hi I was just wondering has any one with a vaderstad carrier used it as a Cambridge roller after a jd750a drill running at a angle with the discs up so just the packer to help slot closure. Just looking at options cheers
For those that don't venture into the Classifieds area. I have swapped my 750A over onto Pro Series boots and firming wheels (don't ask the cost!) and the 90 series firming wheels, in excellent condition, are now surplus so for sale if anyone interested. £240 for the 24.
Wondering what's general thoughts on DIY drying.
'If' someone were operating a 25 year old 12t/h continuous flow dryer for 900 acres, everything going through it. The intake is still from the 60s and microscopic and the handling and wet stora, is becoming unsustainable. The rape goes stright...
Anybody with any thoughts or experiences they wish to share on the above machine. Early 2000's.
Weight of 4.8m;
Rows of tines;
Maintenance costs - springs, wearing parts etc;
Ability to do its job;
Work rates;
Small seeds/big seeds crops
Etc
All opinions appreciated
The new Virkar Dynamic D drill is here. After undergoing 2 years of field testing the drill is now ready to be rolled out.
When we brought the first Virkar drill into the country 15 months ago it was for the benefit of our farming company. The response we have got since then with the Virkar...
@ajd132 @Clive and anyone else who's used one, I was wondering how you are getting on with them? How much do the two 6m wings float with the contours? Do the coulters have as much up and down travel as a 750a? Is the down pressure and general drilling performance just as good as the smaller ones...
Well what would you buy on a budget (say 8k) to sow max 200 acres per year. 140hp tractor available with front pto and linkage. 4 furrow reversible Plough already here and set of simba 2b heavy discs and have my own sprayer. Land is heavy clay. No black grass to worry about or cfsb yet. So...
When our 2018 6215r is drilling with our 750a, as soon as the auto steer corrects the steering, the oil pressure to the Drill drops causing the Drill fan to loose speed. When the drill is put on another older 6210r we don’t get the problem. No one seems to be able to tell us what the problem is...
