Things are going well. Organic matter levels around the farm are now above 10% and improving due to spreading our composted Seperated dung and good use of our “pokey” dirty water. We have managed to reduce our nitrogen usage too.
however docks under this system are becoming a real problem and...
Had a walk around my hay earlier today, mowing Tuesday…?
last year there were no docks in it at all, suddenly, this year, loads!!
What can I spray to kill them when they start to regrow after a cut of hay? Problem is, I only want to kill the docks, not the clover etc etc…
Just after people's opinions. What would you top this with?
I've done it before with a rotary topper but I think it leaves a rough finish so the grass doesn't recover as well . Also used a lot of shear bolts.
Cut it all with disc mower first year we had it...
Having researched as much information about the flea beetle as possible and been interested in the current crops in the ground, which generally look good. Do you think we’re starting to see more natural predators? I’ve recently read a paper from an Entomologist who suggested it would take 10...
We're moving onto a small acre of land with a house in the middle, surrounded by fields. Cabbage and wheat I think.
Please excuse my uneducated stance and questions but I'm struggling to get info from the local famers.
Lived in the area for 17 years but this new house is just outside...
Excuse me if this is a silly question; but this year our grazing land for horses is absolutely covered in buttercups. Do they stop grass growing? If I topped the unused paddocks would it help in any way?
All thoughts and advice is appreciated.(y)
Has anyone used newman crop spray. What is it effective on, and whats the application rate.
My line manager bought the stuff without telling me it just turned up and i have no idea how to use it. Any help would be great. Thanks
I sprayed some of my wheat with it's T1 last week and added 0.1l/ha moddus grudgingly. It's now looking more scorched than I would like to see and now I'm faced with the decision as to whether to add topik I think for wild oats in with the T2 when the time comes or leave it. Normal treatment is...
What’s everybody doing? Our milling winter wheats were planted mid October to mid November and so far had 165kg N. We are due another 80kg (liquid) to go for group 1 spec but whilst the calendar says go the crops I think are a month behind due to the dry spell. N2 went on a month ago but it’s...
Use several of these with herbicides. Not up on the differences between them.
Is it the case that methylated are 'strongest' then mineral then vegetable?
Would anyone care to enlighten me please.
Is there any thing to knapsack spray onto Whinns to kill them.

Download PDF There’s a new biostimulant on the market that does quite a different job from the rest. CPM explores the science behind it. No other biostimulant mimics what this does. By Tom Allen-Stevens In a very crowded market of new biostimulants, there’s one available this...
I know we were always told not to mix CTL and PGRs with Atlantis etc and I have always followed this (don't need a PGR after anyway!) with the exception of trace elements but there's a windy week in prospect and late drilled ww has some YR so dare I add a splash of teb with the horus? Thanks
Does anyone know of any independent trials comparing like for like products?
It seems like the big chem companies like to tell everyone their stuff is better and the major distributors like to go with that. I have a background in animal health where generics are probably more used than the R&D...

Download PDF A lot of thought and attention goes into picking the best fungicide products and rates to do the job, yet efficacy is highly dependent on good delivery to the target. CPM discovers how an adjuvant can help achieve this. The leaf cuticle is the most challenging...
I’ve recently built an iron filter for my pig unit. It’s supposed to increase the efficacy of water medications, as the iron particles bond to the medicine. Does iron cause the same problems with ag chems? If so, I should be using filtered water for spraying. This would involve buying another tank.
Posting in this section as that's where I figure the most experience with rushes will be ;)
I'm thinking of renting an ATV flail mower for a week. The selection is precisely 1 make and model
I'll attach a photo, I wonder if they're any use on heavy rushes before I waste a...
