Is there not some kind of interactive map that shows if there is capacity in a region for energy to be exported to the grid?
Or are we stuck with the old process of fill in some form, get quoted a fee for them to tell you no.

If spreading slurry after cutting silage in mid may, what would be a normal application rate? Beef suckler slurry, to get grass coming again for ewes and lambs grazing.
How long after spreading this slurry can I put the ewes on it?

2nd consultations underway for pylons across Scotland. Going off the new maps of the refined routes it looks ike they ignored all community feedback from my area and many others and are just carrying on regardless.
Proposed 60acre substation at Beauly has now increased to 870 acres, although...
If I buy a 4 leg set rated at 6t, does that mean they’re rated for 1.5t per leg? Does that rating change at all if you use the shorteners?
Any suggestions on where to buy from would be appreciated as well
Looking at a big trip to NZ. Going to be having one eye on moving there. Is there any way to have inland revenue accept some of expense as a business research trip?
Do we just have to call it holiday?
Can book farm viewings with estate agents etc. I'll probably see a lot of old Ford tractors...
Yes it does affect farming, but why? my local council seems to be "awash" with money, from the many thousands of private houses paying council tax, plus all the indusrial estates with small and extra large industrial/commercial businesses are occupiyed, never seen it so busy, and nots even...
What are people's thoughts on how they will manage Blackgrass and or Rye Grass in options like Wild Bird Food or Legume fallows?
I've been reading through the SFI handbook and have found some options that would be a good fit for us, but I'm nervous of planting something that becomes swamped by...
As the title suggest considering going down this route with the cattle.
Mega simple system, no breeding stock, one stock class. 12 month old bought in 400kgish animals, groups of 40 grazed from March to November on good free draining ground. Fresh cell every day, grazing herbal lays, no corn...

Looks like glyphosate is being banned as a desiccant for milling oats in Europe, not here at the moment but I suspect it might happen.
Is there anything left in the arsenal to desiccate uneven crops?

We have on the farm the remaining footings of an old agricultural barn which my Father dismantled nearly 30 years ago. The barn would have been built in the 1800 s ?? and was brick with a Tyled roof with in out doors on the each side of the barn for loading/ unloading, common for that period...

I've filled out the SFI actions and had an agreement but I'm struggling with the CS application . I'm 22 and not currently a member of young farmers, although I am with the NFU. Is there any free help (farm advisory) geared towards young farmers with an extremely limited support network that can...
