I am thinking of getting 4 acres of old grass land Direct drilled with turnips after second cut silage.
Winters are wet here and land wouldn’t be the lightest but this would be one of my driest fields in winter. Never grazed a forage crop over winter here before.
I am wondering would I get...

The cool, dry April has slowed crop growth, disease development and T1 fungicide applications. CPM joins the Crop Doctors as they get back out into the field to see how different varieties have fared at Cawood, Long Sutton, Callow and Great Tew. There’s a lot of leaf death and...
Has anyone got red/brown tipped leaves. Agronomist thinks its the cold dry weather we've had, I hope anyway!
He said other clients have the same.

Download PDF As crops put on spring growth, many will have their first fungicide at the T1 timing. CPM joins the Crop Doctors on a virtual tour as they consider the implications. You need nerves of steel to the point of foolishness not to treat. By Tom Allen-Stevens Every year...
Have used 0.5l/ha Jaunt (Fluoxastrobin(75g/l) Prothioconazole(150g/l)
Trifloxystrobin(75g/l)) the last couple of years with good results( have both been very dry springs with low levels of disease). With the loss of CTL what are people using this year?

I know we were always told not to mix CTL and PGRs with Atlantis etc and I have always followed this (don't need a PGR after anyway!) with the exception of trace elements but there's a windy week in prospect and late drilled ww has some YR so dare I add a splash of teb with the horus? Thanks
So we’ve only got Defy - see attached, but having applied this in the autumn we’ve now got ryegrass come back through so we must be resistant to that as well.

Tried No-Till and that doesn’t work.
Tried spring crops and they aren’t working.
Tried maize and it...

I am currently using Gatekeeper for crop recording and mapping/precision farming.
There seems to be a reasonable choice for the crop recording alternatives, however options for the mapping and precision farming side of things seem more limited.
What are other people using to do mapping and...
I have a small patch of oats which due to low rate liberator have no weeds👍, except cleavers. I don’t have a starane type product but I do still have a lot of MCPA and 24d which I mix for grass fields. Would on of those or a mix kill cleavers?
The labels only talk about perennial weeds🤷♂️
Many years ago in the mists of time I signed up to Farming On Line, originally called FOL I think.
Before Gmail and other such bits of better tech they were ahead of the game and for years I have had an email address that I had used for BCMS and other business emails which prevented loads of...
