    SFI 24 no till payment

Just wondering if there's any further information out yet as to what constitutes no till in the eyes of SFI? Is it a dts/mzuri/claydon direct into stubble? Or is it going to be lower disturbance tine or disc? Supposedly a claydon grain and fert meets the grant spec with the leading tine applying...

    Wireworm

We have temporary grass in our rotation for hay. I’ve recently noticed some wireworm damage creeping in from the headlands. I had a dig around on a few dying plants and found plenty. I’m thinking beans for 25 harvest then a legume/linseed cover. Anyone got any better ideas advice?

What should the replacement for SFI look like?

SFI unravelling as the policy makers realise food might be in short supply and as of yesterday (25th March) not taking land out of food production is suddenly important to the government. Is it important to the population as a whole to have home grown food production subsidised? What should SFI...

Winter cover crops on heavy land... what a disaster

I farm heavy silty clay with flints. No ditches, no land drains. Good strong wheat land, if unforgiving. I've been trying to grow cover crops on and off for the last 9 yrs. With one exception, they have all been disastrous. Summer cover crops in place of a spring crop, on the other hand, can...
