I’m purchasing a 8340 coming on bald tyres so good chance to put wider ones on. Main jobs will be rolling and fert spreading. Very little road work. Will be doing low hours so want to last a good few years.
Question is what would be the best tyre for the job. Thinking 600/65r38 and 480/65r28...
I currently have 380/85/28 sized tyres on the front of my tractor and am going to change them to 420/28. Would changing the profile of the tyre to a 70 give and benefit for example speed,grip,how it feels on the road. Or would it do any harm with 4wd etc?

Currently I have bailey trailers fitted with 425/65/22.5 tyres, but the smaller 11ton one I use for muck is fairly rutting the fields this time of year. One field in particular has a steep ramp in, which the 155hp on wide tyres only just manages to drag it up. Normally I can manage the trailer...

What are thew best? I'm happy to pay a premium for long lasting tyres, but what o ultimately need is side walls/wheel rim protection. We always have problems with people catching the rims on cubible heelstone etc. any recemendarions on brands. using Camso atm.
