Hi, Minstrel/thistlex is a good combination i have used, can Thistlex be mixed with depitox to similar effect seems a cheaper way if it works, Thanks for any replies. Thistles/docks in established grassland is the problem.
New too this, "fields of grass"!
40 odd acres very old pasture, (lifetime knowledge it has never been cultivated).
What would be the prefered product to erradicate Thistles. MCPA or CMPP?
Grass taken for Hay in July usually grazed by sheep August to Christmas.
Can anyone help with advice please; two of my fields are covered in silver weed, why? I do have a lot of Graylag geece coming there but i don't think it's their fault although they do eat all the grass with their young ones. People say you can eat silverweed root, but we'd have to go some to...
It was sown the 24th of May. It has come lovely but it's full of fat hen and docks. I have sheep on it but only 50 something on 7 and a half acres. I can put the weaned lambs on it in about 10 days. I was going to top it before they seed and spray next spring if needed, but I am wondering now if...
This past two seasons we have notice our silage ground is getting plagued majorly with chickweed. Just had a walk around some of the fields and it’s worse than last year.
Every year we treat the fields with Doxstar and even I think two seasons ago, we used Forefront. It kills it but comes back...
I was looking something to control some docks and dandelions etc it has been suggested to use doxstar with some agritox. Has anyone any other suggestions? Forefront etc is out of the question as the silage is sold off so I cant use anything with a restriction.
There may have been other threads on this a while ago, if so soz. We have a grass field which I was gonna reseed late summer but missed the opportunity so it's now pencilled in for next year. We have the usual selection of thistles, docks and nettles growing in clumps. I was just wanting to try...
Best spray to kill them been using dockstar but keep coming back. We sprayed them when they were young and leafy as well. Can’t use frontier cause of muck for other crops :(
I would like to pick the collective minds on here for information.
Bit by bit i am getting on top of the weed burden i inherited on some of the land i farm. Usually i have Nettles and Thistles to deal with, OR Rushes. My go to products are Thistlex, and for the rushes i have been knocking them...
Hi
As like in many parts of the country, this precipitation continues to hamper my thoughts about going out and harrowing the f**k out of our paddocks after the sheep have left to give the growing docks a headache vs chemical approach, because I am seeing some pop up around the site as...
Good morning we have a grass field which has multiple patches of thistle and nettles which we try and spot spray every year but always come back :/ so want to spray the entire field what would anyone recommend to spray it with? And can we do it this year or does it need to wait till spring now...
Good Day FF,
Some of you may have been involved in a recent thread 'Pesticide Labels' and as a result of feedback gained from the forum, changes are expected to be implemented to enable clearer information on UPL's UK labels.
Following on from that, I am keen to gain your feedback on your...
Thought I'd start a thread about the various ways of improving grassland.
Either direct drilling
With a Moore like @hally
Or a Duncan
Or an einbock type seeder
Also not forgetting the need to soil test and ph status
@Cab-over Pete
@Clive are Chems going to be sold or not?
I think it's a good idea, but so far too many bits and bobs and not enough of the big spends priced or listed.
