    NROSO Fiasco

Is anybody else having problems with these absolute loons? Claiming I haven’t paid. Claiming I haven’t achieved enough points, when I sent evidence when I paid. Absolute joke. Come on sort yourselves out, everybody else seems to function acceptably in spite of Covid.

Farmers Weekly: Is Red Tractor assured grain traceable?

What do we understand by the claim that RT produce is traceable? What would the consumer expect by that claim? RT often claim it's traceable. See video at 35secs - saying traceable back to the farm. How does this traceability claim sit against the ASA investigation...

    Never had it so good!

Tonight marks the 75th anniversary of the start of 1947 blizzard. By 14th March, when it ended, 2100mm of level snow had been measured in County Durham, 4m sheep lost in Wales and potato rationing introduced for the first time ever. My personal recollection is of dozens of our cows being...

One of the major components in precision agriculture is crop health monitoring, which includes irrigation, fertilization, pesticide sprays, and timely harvest of the crop. Further, the progressive change in growth and development is critical in crop monitoring and taking suitable decisions to...

    Upgrading Trimble signal

Hi I have recently purchased a new to me sprayer which has Trimble CFX-750 screen running section control and EZ steering through an AG25 receiver. Currently it is running on the free EGNOS signal. I would be interested to hear others opinions, would the EGNOS signal be good/accurate enough...

On Track guidance system -anyone got any views how good they are?

As per title ,was wondering if the On Trak would be a simple and reasonably cheap enough thing to help my fert application (if it ever gets cheap enough ) but mainly for utilising my smallish crop sprayer to apply seaweed /growth promoters / foliar N and the like ! Will suit me on the tractor...

Soft ware, and how its affects how we use things we buy, including tractors

Just caught this on Radio 4. I have always preferred old cars , so much less to go wrong, but had never really thought how software can stop you using something you have bought how you like, from tractors to phones. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0012r78

    Concerned about Red Tractor collapse.

With the cut in funding from AHDB and the pending creation of a new competing scheme, surely RT's days are numbered? What will that mean for those of us who are signed up for assurance if RT goes under? Will we still be able to market our produce or will the alternative schemes take us on if...

    Backhoe diggers

It's only a thought at the moment. I see one that was sold that had a jcb q fit carriage. Would be handy for loading bales and muck spreader to keep it busy in the summer then ditching/fence clearing in the winter etc. I don't really want a 360 as I'm keen to use the machine for far greater...

    Renovation or new build

Farmhouse is needing a bit of work. New roof, windows and probably strip the lath and plaster off and stud and insulate. Can be very cold. Or knock down and build a new timber frame. Comfort and warmth in my mind comes before architectural features and looks. Has anyone done this or has...

Recommend me an oil boiler for central heating only.

As the thread title says I am looking for recommendations. Currently our central heating system of the house consists of an old oil boiler and a woodburner. Next year I need to replace the oil burner as it is on its last legs. Can you recommend me a good one as I have no experience with them. No...
