Would the leading tine on the claydon create enough drainage to keep the deluge of water we have had this year ,away from the seed so that it doesn't blow and rot if drilled in reasonable conditions?
I gave up second wheats a good few years ago due to grassweed control, lack of!, thought I'd give it another go as the farm is cleaner and now running a disc direct drill, flooding aside, it looks terrible, what have people learnt with DD second wheat, as I'm now hearing advice along the lines...
Afternoon all
We have a fair lump not sown at the minute, some of it quite heavy and still stubble, some of it worked and half sown.
Tine drills seem to be top choice for some people in wet conditions, so I'm after experiences really. I know of a tine drill at sensible money, and we have a 6m...
Looking to hire a tracked tractor for around 3 months starting now. Needs to have a 3 point linkage and freeflow return valve and ideally autosteer but thats a luxury that could be done without. I'd like to hire by the clock hour as it will be used intermittently. Total hours would be no more...

Between 55% and 60% of Northern Ireland’s 2023 potato crop is still in the ground, for the most part, rotting in the drills.

One-pass systems tend to be associated with cereals as a way of minimising the cultivation and therefore expense of repeatedly travelling across a field.
This same desire to reduce costs is shared by potato growers and Dewulf has released its latest...
With this extreme weather bursts we get now, its got me thinking what is the right drill for all weather conditions? We have all been led to believe direct drilling or min till is the best for your ground? but what is best for your income? After all this wet all us direct drill boys are now...
Do we have a seed drill mindset?
Some years ago Clive Bailye arranged a trial of 10 or so different direct drills on a level uniform 50 acre field. There was a spare plot which they seeded with a fertiliser spinner and then scratched over the surface. It performed far better than expected...
So we’ve modified, developed and pimped the rear tine based coulter bar of our Horsch front tank based twin outlet drilling rig as far as we can like triggers broom and it’s now time to produce the next evolution to take it to the next level from what we’ve learnt and utilising newly parts and...

It was a busy...
Sorry to spam the forum with threads about combi drills on sticky soils, but just come across a Weaving tine drill combi drill. I seen to remember in 2012/13 people were saying these were good in wet conditions.
Any user experiences?
I think I’ve narrowed it down to either a Weaving combi or a...
