    Planet Spring barley fungicide

Have used 0.5l/ha Jaunt (Fluoxastrobin(75g/l) Prothioconazole(150g/l) Trifloxystrobin(75g/l)) the last couple of years with good results( have both been very dry springs with low levels of disease). With the loss of CTL what are people using this year?

    Anyone growing hybrid rye?

I’m growing rye for the first time this year. I’ve got hybrid variety Serafino. It follows wheat, straw baled, stubble raked, drilled last week of September with JD750a. The issue I have is that it is thin in the swath rows. I take it that it doesn’t like the toxins from the wheat chaff. Has...

Know it's miles early. What's he collectives thoughts now CTL has passed on. Is Iodus (Laminarin?) any use on Septoria and Mildew (plenty of peatground) or is it a case of Folpet with fingers firmly crossed? In the West so Septoria is the main target.

Autumn Guide - Learning Lessons from the Past

THE IMPORTANCE OF MULTI-SITES History clearly tells us that single-site fungicides used without the addition of a multi-site can quickly succumb to resistance evolution. Alternative multi-sites such as folpet can be used to manage resistance and extend the life of existing chemistry. THE...

    Future Chocolate spot control

So this year wasn't bad and didn't really show up loss of CTL. Going forward are there any EAMUs for existing products on the horizon or maybe possibly new products? AFAIK I know current approved triazoles and strobs have limited effects on Choc spot. My hunch (and a quick google) is that...

How to get the most from your Winter Feed Wheat

GROWTH HABIT • Quick early development with erect growth habit • Fast to reach GS30 • Later maturing, allowing more time to build yield SY INSITOR is a taller variety (with no PGR). However, it responds well to PGR applications to reduce height and lodging risk. DID YOU KNOW? SY...

Anybody NOT t2-ing, t1-ing etc because of frosts

Unusually cold this week. Another frost this morning, so at least 3 this week now. Have T2 on wheat to do, T1 on SB and some beans to tidy up. All mixes containing a herbicide. Anybody not applying with such low night temps?

    Spring barley looking poor...

Some of the stuff i've sown is, some is ok, some is terrible! It looks like i've sown it too thin, but I've not, it is desperate for a good downpour, I was thinking while driving from them earlier, there's not been drop of proper rain since they went in the ground. How's yours looking?

    T2, anybody using Revystar??

Is anybody going to use Revystar at T2, would a low rate work as well as a good rate of the slightly older chemistry if you spend the same ££. My best wheat is Extase, so Revysol would be a bit OTT, but I have got a decent block of Crusoe which might benefit.

    Foxtrot/Oskar or axial

I'm going to need to treat my spring barley for wild oats and I was wondering if theres much of a saving by using foxtrot instead of axial. I've never used foxtrot before is it as safe and kind to the crop as axial?

    Cereals...gross margin at different yeilds?

Have been thinking recently...surely it isn't always the case that the greatest gross margin occurs at greatest yeild? Yet in the farming press, it seems that it is? We rarely see articles about lower input systems. Sorry for the random and disjoin6 thread, just thought it might be an...
