We seem to go through ups on the mixer wagon way more often than we should. I tend to mix it at about 350rpm but it’s been suggested that this could be putting more strain on and we need to rev to 540rpm which seems rather excessive to me.
would running lower revs add more strain?
I was talking to someone from down south who said they did a Provin mix with their feeder wagon, I’ve never heard of this so was wondering if someone could explain what it is?

It got to 40°C and they all died apparently, I doubt that’s a completely unprecedented temperature there? It got to 42°C in Alberta when I was there and I don’t remember any fuss about the cattle?
I’m on the look out for a cheap straw chopper to chop straw for the feeder wagon to save time. Something cheap and simple to chop and blow into a heap, thinking a teagle drum model or similar but how short do they chop it? The shorter the better really

Anyone putting clamp silage through a bale unroller? Seen the sheep man from Orkney doing it on YouTube. Looked to work but couldn’t see what machine he was using exactly. Don’t want a feeder wagon and not keen to go round bales. Looking for a simple way of feeding clamp silage either on a...
Looked at a new trailer recently that was fitted with led lights that came on when the body was tipped.
Just wondering if anyone does a kit to retro fit to an existing trailer, shouldn’t involve anything too technical other than some sort of switch that would switch on/off as the body was...
Having been berated about the price of lamb and how people need to pay more for it, if us Peasants are to continue in business producing these lambs, I thought I would start a thread about what could or should be done to reduce the costs that many of us have.
Many of these costs are out of our...
Hi guys.
looking to upgrade from a TM130 to a T6.160 AutoCommand. has anyone any experience with a T6.160 AC or could point me in the right direction of one for sale.
My main job for the tractor will be ploughing with a four furrow plough. something the tm130 has little problem with, should the...
I'm looking for a feeder wagon that would be capable of feeding out chopped bales of silage, pit silage/draff and be preferably light enough to take out into fields pre lambing/calving to feed fodder beet. I'm thinking something along the lines of the trailed hustler type arrangements, but don't...

Nothing to do with poltics or unfaithful partners.
I found a trio of dead rats in the barn, half grown & then loading some small bales, I saw another one same size but very much alive. It dived between two bales but its tail was visible, should I have grabbed it.
I've just caught up on John Roche's ADHB presentation on marginal litres. I also saw him give a similar one at Positive Farmers a few yrs ago.
To anyone that's not seen it, the gist is that in spring calving grazing systems, feeding concentrates (or other bought feed) brings significantly more...
Does anyone have experience of these or very similar Masseys? I’m more of a New Holland man but can’t find anything suitable, the 6495 etc are after catching my eye. They seem to have a good spec. Full suspension is a must for me, I’ve heard fellas saying the Massey are a reliable and...
