This morning we have had our 6 month Health and safety consultant visit.
We got on to Loler inspections. We have the two loaders independently inspected annually and accept that I'm in a grey area when I inspect the man cage and loaders for their 6 month competent person inspection.

A farmer has been ordered to pay costs totalling over £5,000 after a woman was “trampled” by more than a dozen cows on a public right of way in north Yorkshire.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) found that livestock were being...
Two weeks ago I asked for volunteers to help organise a farmers protest. To make the risk-reward of farming worthwhile.
JUST ONE FARMER STEPPED FORWARD!
In the face of this level of apathy I give up on trying to get (English) farmers to do anything.
Indeed, the vast majority of comments on...

Thinking of refurbishing and adding some extensions onto some houses, have all the necessary planning and will do all work up to all the current standards, but do i have to have them inspected and signed off from Building Control? They will never be sold.
Anyone had one yet.
Be good to get a heads up on how vigorous they are, as if they find anything wrong they'll be charging as they do for all inspections.

We have a typical old school silage clamp setup which we want to improve. It’s earth bank at the back with occasional springs then free standing pre-cast panels dividing the clamps.
The option we’re looking at is to put a sealed wall against the earth bank (drainage stone and drain to catch...
Hi folks.
I’m currently coming up on my 18th birthday and have just passed my car driving test. I was wondering now I have that under my belt what it would take to become qualified for seasonal tractor work during harvest perhaps carting. I have very little farm experience so am in the dark on...
Two of our bins empty into a pit set into the concrete. This works OK, except that it's a PITA to clean out, particularly if only putting a few tons on a trailer - it takes longer to clean it out than it does to put the load on. Also, the pit tends to fill with water, either from rain or just...
In the light of the Post Office scandal, should government bodies have an independent right to prosecute individuals?
it would seem to me that a court is automatically going to believe the government body as it would not appear to benefit directly from any person, company or other being found...
When did the government overreach and interference start, that's lead to all the hassle we all have now from other bodies thinking they own us or what we grow before we have even sold it?
Obviously WW2 and WW1 we were about starved out so the government had the war Ag committees etc. But were...
Hi All
