    Vehicle towing limits

Just wondering about the justifications for vehicle towing limits. Last week I took a couple of steers in with my Freelander 2 and IW trailer. To be honest I was probably (!) close to the limit as it has a towing capacity of 2 tons. However it went like a dream, I hardly noticed the trailer...

    Ranger what to look for

Recently been looking at navaras to replace a dmax and I simply don't like them and I've heard enough bad reports of problems. Now considering a ranger... Will be a 2019 at oldest. I've heard the auto box is the most reliable as manual can be problematic? So the question then is which is best to...

    Lease or buy pickup

Considering a change of pickup and never done lease before. Always thought it as paying a lot of money for something you never own although I’ve never actually looked into it properly. But with some horror stories with modern vehicles reliability and cost of repair I’m wondering if it something...

2023 Pick up trucks - what's your fave and why?

Am trying to make myself prefer the Izuzu D Max as its lighter and doesnt run the over 2040kg weight/ speed issue but it isn't stacking up to my 2019 L200 - sadly no longer available to the UK market. Anyone got a 2023 Ranger? Hilux? ETA are roller tops ever waterproof vs a full cab? Many thanks

On the way home this evening the battery warning light has come on on my “66”plate Isuzu D-max. Battery cables are tight, alternator belt is their. How can I check if the alternator is working or had it? I have multimeter but need an idiots guide how to use it :scratchhead: It looks as though...

There's a guy works down the chip shop...

says he is paying £18 for a 25kg bag of spuds. A quick search shows that in 1960 a cwt of King Edwards delivered was 25 shillings, so 75p for 25kg (if my maths is right ? happy to be corrected ) . So, for those who understand inflation and stuff, were spuds cheaper in 1960 or today ? My...

    Isuzu pickup rear diff failure

Our 2018 Isuzu rear diff has blown up, only done 60,000 miles and ran out of warranty 3 months ago, has anybody else had this problem? It’s been serviced by the dealer every year so I expected some help from Isuzu but instead I’ve been quoted £3200 for a new diff. I had originally planned to...

    Volkswagen vehicle inspection

Sent a Vw commercial in for a check on a potential issue which as it turns out isn’t an issue. At the same time they did a ‘complementary’ vehicle health check. In the check they found a minor oil leak on the front shock and a minor issue with the turbo damper seal. They then proceed to tell me...
