Massey 6713 global, pto wont engage when your not on the seat and if your on the seat and get out it turns it off again. No use for mixing slurry. Theres no mudguard pto button either. Any idea how to get this pos to go?
Our bull has stopped eating and is making a low grunting noise with every breath, started 2 days ago but yesterday seemed better but worse now. Will be phoning the vet shortly, just wondering if you have any ideas? My father is thinking a wire. Been no change in his diet so ruling out acidosis...
Hi all,
What are your thoughts on Massey Fergusons 4370 with 24/24 power shuttle? Seem a nice looking tractor. How would they fare baling and pulling a 10ft mo/co? Do they give much trouble?
Thanks
got some to sort out for sheep feeding....cant afford to buy a bucket and Just thinking/ looking for ideas on how to make one from the scrap pile .........
Tempted to try a pure stand of chicory rather than turnips or kale/rape treat it as a break crop and full reseed in autumn
Dry field several access points
Thoughts?
Currently feeding store cattle, various ages, rolled barley, they have different amounts per pen, we bucket it out of a matbro bucket onto the feed passage. Very time consuming and labour intensive. Does anyone have any ideas how we can make it easer while still being able to feed different...
Well ,I don’t normally post political views on FB but being as I commented on a Conservative “ Back British Farming “ post that has clearly been removed and has annoyed me, and shows they don’t like being criticised.
I thought I would basically post what I had posted on their page.
The...
Looking at upgrading from our current Keenan 140 to a twin tub and want to beable to feed all the milkers in one batch approx 170 cows. So think we’re looking around the 21 cube mark. Will have to be a second hand machine ideally that’s been refurbed. Any makes in particular to look at or to...
Hi. Dry cows are short of protein. Had the same issue last yr and had colostrum issues for a while. Feed rep is suggesting we need at least 2 kgs of dry cow rolls &£473 a ton. Is the best solution? Through management calving issues aren’t a big issue here.
Curious to see where others have fixed feed for autumn 24-spring 25.
we’ve not covered anything yet and suspect wheat can’t get any lower. Don’t want to have my pants pulled down
As above, I hope it’s a problem with a seized relay/shuttle. We are able to lubricate the shuttle for 1st an 3rd but can’t get to the necessary for the other two gears.
My question is, are there panels in the floor that come up to allow access to the shuttle assembly ?
or does the cab have to...
After a used spreader Abit bigger than my marshall 75 barrel. Ideally a West 1600-2000 dual or a barrel around 10 cube. Think the smaller rear discharges will be too dear for me
This is a slightly bizarre and definitely pointless thread but putting hay out yesterday for our dry cows and thinking what a fantastic feed it is; no plastic, no effluent, easy as pie to handle and transport, rumen friendly, cows love it.
Got me wondering; does anyone know of anyone still...
Wondered what works best if anything does. Starlings been here about a week, more every day.
Turn up as it's coming light, away by dusk. We feed on the outside of the sheds so they have plenty to eat. They perch on every bar, every gate. The cows are covered.
Been banging the 12 over there...
Newby to mixer wagon.
I'm wanting to produce dry blends. Rolled cereal and beans with additional protein and minerals possibly with molasses.
A unit with high discharge height and good empty out ability to reduce residual product between blends.
It won't ever do forage based diets.
Single axle...
Good evening all,
Next year I'm looking at buying a rotor spreader. 8-10 cube sort of size.
It will be spreading our own FYM which is a mix of yard scrapings and strawy muck from a covered yard.
Also I am hopefully getting some work in from livery yards, (run by ex farmers who don't...
