Farmhouse is needing a bit of work. New roof, windows and probably strip the lath and plaster off and stud and insulate. Can be very cold.
Or knock down and build a new timber frame.
Comfort and warmth in my mind comes before architectural features and looks.
Has anyone done this or has...
So with my tractor as a package deal came a 3 point pallet lifter which work s great except for this single thing: it has trouble lowering fully when there is little to no weight on the forks. My bulk standing on the forks and reaching into the cab to move the hydraulic lever usually helps. From...
As above….

Our power has been out since 5pm Friday, estimated that will be back by 6pm tonight, but not holding our breath, there’s a lot of damage.
Our house is old, draughty, inefficient
insulation, single glazed windows, heated by a mixture of oil and wood. Everything about it is a black mark...
First this may not be correct section to put this but I am sure no one will object... a month ago our oil fired boiler was removed along with all the radiators and was replaced with heat exchange pump and efficient radiators solar panels were also fitted.. to cut a long story short
Our...
One hears a lot about the theory of Carbon Offsetting in many industries including Agriculture. As Co2 is something I can’t see or touch how where can I get practical proof that carbon offsetting works in practice.
In theory if my tractor supposedly omits “x”amount of Co2 a year ,am I meant to...
Good evening. Am new to the forum and also to the world of tractors. I’ve been in haulage for the best part of 15 years but come out of it pre covid.
I am looking at the idea of buying a tractor and trailer for moving my plant from home to a site I will be renovating over the next few years...
What is the best LONG TERM (i.e. for about 11 months). WD 40 is okay for about a week.
Is this any good? Or is it like car body underseal, that is horrible to get off...
Anyone else having problems getting through to this company ?

Carrying on from our smallest grain dryer to our largest so far is our 200 tonne model fully insulted and cladded and weather roof ( all our dryers are done this way)with virtually no heat loss as opposed to uninsulated

A baptism of fire of our award wining 2 tonne batch/continuous baby dryer ! drying hemp seed at 28-30 % moisture down to 8%
with a drying temperature of only 47 Deg.C ,in this case we are
drying in batch mode because of the high moisture content whilst
being able to run off a 13A plug and being...
I've a tank of red which was delivered which is still summer grade, its still pretty mild here but I could do with something to cover for freezing temperatures which will most likely happen before I get a fill of winter fuel. I had serious waxing problems last year, it was down to -14c several...
We’ve a tenant in the yard who’s enquired about us plumbing into our biomass boiler (only used for grain drying and farmhouse presently) to get heat into his unit. I’m waiting on prices from the installer to do the job for us but need to have an idea of what we can potentially charge him for...
Don't wish to be alarmist but the gap between ordering Red Diesel and actual delivery is widening (and the price has increased just for good measure. ) Think ahead if you are needing to top up your tanks. I ordered today and was told it COULD be up to 4 weeks before I got it.
