We applied avadex and generic liberator at full rate during the first ten days of October, due to rain most days since the crop isn't worth keeping, we want to put some grass in some bits and possibly some of the sfi options, obviously neither probably going to get drilled till beginning of...
I had previously been overlooking SAM2 mutlispecies cover. Is it really as simple as we drill autumn cereal crop as usual, give it a light sprinkle of some other species and claim it as Sam2? Seems to have the potentially to be the most reward for least cost/effort option of all SFI...
Well is it time? What with the bad weather reducing plantings. Is sfi being used because of uncertainty in crop prices and/ or risk aversion. The ability to import looks slightly more difficult, less planted here in Europe too! Would a simple 10/15% reduction be worth it. The less I have done...
We have a customer where we are still waiting for the ground to dry up enough to get winter oats drilled. It is in grass at the moment and when we get 3-4 dry days in a row we will be able to follow the plough with the combi-drill - just not had 3-4 dry days in a row lately :X3:. Plan was to...
Managed to get our relatively small wheat acreage drilled in October however we have about 10 to 20% bare patches where the seed has rotted in the ground and nothings has come through.
Agronomist says to patch up with Extase wheat seed when it drys up as its a vigorous variety and will make...
Anyone else had this problem. Wheat drilled 3 cm deep and rolled before application
left side had liberator+pdm. Right luximo twin pack. Glad I only bought 1 pack.

Morning
Presumably most are still planning on planting wheat in the next month or so.
With current prices and profitability what’s everyone’s thoughts on pre em choices and rates ?
cheers
Probably won't be looking at SFI until next year, but wondering if anyone has a plan for companion crops.
What companion in which crop, will it work with herbicides, will it leave any profit? Payment rate is only £55/ha.
I hope an arable farmer can please give me a clue about this problem before I speak to Luke Cropwalker. Ploughed out grass in spring. It was a great job, and the herbicide seemed to work. Barley looked good.
Suddenly after the summer went sour and it rained so much, all the grass suddenly...
As far as I understand the rules for the above. I am entitled to spin some beans into my winter barley at drilling, leave them in until the spring, and claim for the £129/hectare.
Has anyone clarified this with the higher powers by any chance? It seems like a no brainer

Any suggestions,

we have power harrowed stubbles in the past but last time I set the gearbox on fire and ended up scraping the machine, so not keen on using the power Harrow off the combi and killing that as...
