    Tractor dealer near devizes

There is a ex-council loader tractor with a dealer at Worton, near Devizes. Its a bit of a drive away from me but looks a tidy machine for its age. Is there anyone who lives nearby who might know the dealership?

Is it easy to split a 3 metre combi.

Is it quite simple to split a 3 metre combi? For good reasons I only have 85 & 95 hp tractors. So no chance with a combi. Is it ok to buy a combi & run the power harrow on one tractor & drill on the other? Thinking 12K budget for 3 metre combi, maybe an A frame to buy? Second hand of course.

Do Indians not like David Browns

Indians still build tractors very similar to MF 135, Ford 3000 & similar Renalt tractors. Why don't they build a David Brown they were much more fun, especially DB 780?

Massey 6470 DynaShift stiff gear leaver

Hello! I'm from Finland and new to the forum. Seems to me like there's a lot of knowledge on Massey Fergusons here so I taught I would try to ask a question. I'm looking for a 6470 as a replacement for our loader tractor. Yesterday I was visiting a dealer that has one for sale with the DynaShift...

Is there much difference in reliability of tractor brands/manufacturers?

As above . I say brands,as many tractor brands are under the umbrella of Agco and to a lesser degree Case/New Holland. I am sure some of you will have tried most makes/brands. I must add that I am now semi retired but occasionally help out someone who runs Case tractors and they seem to be not...

    130hp tractor new/used

it’s always being asked but looking for the good bad the ugly currently running a John Deere 6610 with a loader just shy of 10000 hours and clocking 800/1000 hours a year starting to think might be time for something newer with more comfort and possibly 50k but not sure what to replace with...

Strong reliable 150hp backup loader tractor

As above. Could use a backup tractor that is nippy enough with a loader and can also pull the 18 ton trailer without getting damaged so no soft gearboxes.. Budget £20k or just over and I don't like changing machines as in my experience they always come with minor and major problems!, so will be...

    Tractor tyres - radia/crossply/premium/budget

Hi I need to replace both tyres on my Valtra 700 - small tractor. One is very worn and the other has a puncture. I could get the puncture repaired, but tyre people tell me that I would have to have inner tube and then couldn't fill the tyre with water - which it currently has for ballast...

    What is it with telehandler’s

Why is it for the hours they do it seems all handler makes have a poorer reliability than tractors . I know this involves various generalisations but I have run JCB,Manitou and at present Merlo and at one point this week all 3 of my machines had faults nothing major but two requiring ad...

    Tractor Tyres

Bit of a minefield?!? I was drilling stubble turnips other day and suddenly tyre went down on the back of new Holland. Got a gash in the side wall. Could have repaired it but thought tyres 5 year old and few other minor gashs in the sidewall as well. Bought some new BKTs to be fitted today...

    JCB 3C mk3 or MF 50B

I know this maybe the wrong place for this question but there’s no doubt a few of the above are scraping out ditches and doing the odd drainage repair around the farm. Any experiences with either would be interesting as I’m thinking of parting with my McConnell PA8 for something a bit more...

Weighing out feed using auger bucket

Currently feeding cereal blend out using bags (housed cattle, feed passage, into troughs). 330kg/day, twice a day feeding. Getting tired of filling and lifting 20/25kg bags. We have an auger bucket on farm which goes in front of telehandler. Is it possible with the auger bucket to have a...

Small pivot steer for cleaning out - buying advice.

I am thinking of purchasing an old and small pivot steer - up to 4ft wide for cleaning out. It wont be used very often so as long as its not falling to bits and will last then that would be good enough. Anything anyone recommends or thinks i should avoid?
