Hi,
I have an abundance of oats available they didn’t make milling 🫠
Due to there currently being “no market” for feed oats it seems like it could be a good feed source for my ewes and next years lambs. I wouldn’t make a dent in what we have in the grainstore but it seems a cheaper feed source...
Warning: some elements of this post are a bit of a rant.
I think many if not all farmers assume that they need to grow their business. The mentality is that if you are not expanding, then you are standing still or even going backwards.
Where does this notion come from?
Take it to the logical...
Should we worry both as consumers and producers?
Glyphosate on oats is the obvious one.Recently highlighted by tim Spector on one of his zoe podcasts.
Do we know if glyphosate is toxic in any way.
Is it messing with our microbiome?
Also as a strawberry grower I am well aware of the very short...

For reasons due to circumstances and health I’ve a “ lot “ of tup lambs
Never going to be big lambs , Cheviot x Welsh, but some are looking good enough to send in to mart

We’ve got a field that’s poor drainage wise, worst on the farm by a mile. Had an awful year with it, sopping wet in the spring, barely dried out all "summer". Got naff all spring barley wholecrop off it, made a disgraceful mess in July, miracle we didn’t get machinery stuck. Got it flatlifted...
Generally pure pet of cow you can scratch her back out the field all year round. Never had bother with her before. Calved unassisted every other year. Had to assist this year (leg down and only a handy pull of the jack only used jack to save my back to be honest. ) got zero hardship at all. In...
