    Spray technologies for field crops

Our approach to the use of crop protection products has changed very little in the last decade, despite significant research, even though they can amount to as much as half the overall cost of production. With growing concerns about their potential environmental impact, using these products...

    Spray nozzles

What’s with the current trend of forward backward spray nozzles? I was always of the thinking that backwards spray just goes upwards and so therefore pointless! It seems that most of these only offer corse spray patterns to get around this. Is there are nozzle that people know of that does...

    Proximity sensor nozzles on sprayer.

Evening all. I have an unusual question for all on here. There is probably no such thing but no harm in asking. We use a weed licker for getting rid of our pesky rushes. To me it's just an ok job. It will eventually kill them off over a good few weeks but not completely gone.(with good dosage...

Direct/zero tilling without glyphosate, is it possible?

    I’ve made a huge mistake… (new sprayer)

A word of caution…. I sold my 2015 Amazone UX3200 sprayer a few weeks ago because it had done 70,000 acres and it was also tactically the right thing to do from a deprecation/tax point of view. i bought it new, and I can honestly say it never once let me down. Ever. I wanted a new Amazone...

    Bateman sprayer query

A friend of mine runs a Bateman SP sprayer. I think it’s an RB16. He’s had a couple of cases of glyphosate contamination when spraying cereals, it resulted in crop damage. He would be thorough enough in terms of washout although he has never used the clean water tank. The sprayer would be 10-15...

    Tramline spraying

Evening guys and gals. Something to ponder over and see what you think. Anybody using an N Sensor on liquid fert , if so what nozzles are you running to get a big enough variation to make it worth while, it’s an Agrifac sprayer on a single line so looking for nozzles that can give a good spread of rates without going to too high a pressure to avoid scorch.
