Anybody had section control fitted to a sprayer? I’ve found a very tidy but old SP on farm. It’s 12/24/36m but doesn’t have section control. Any ideas on cost?
Any recommendations?
I want one for just spraying the yard and tarmac about the place. Knapsack a bit slow.
Would a boominator nozzle be a no go and a little boom better?
Do you actually use: drone scanning technology, 3D mapping, temperature and moisture sensors, farming data, or any of the "modern sophisticated farming equipment" that engineering blog posts talk about. I'd love to hear whether this stuff is actually used or just bull-crap.
I have seen many occasions with people with blocked nozzles, you may not feel you get any blocks, but I can assure you that everyone does. Many people have spent thousands of pounds on Satellite Systems and rate governors. These systems are very good, but they will not tell you when you have...

New data from Corteva has shown high levels of control of volunteer oats in the autumn with its Broadway Star herbicide.
Unwanted oats are typically addressed in the spring, but if left unchecked for months volunteers can impact yield.

Got a bowl in lambing shed always drips , put new valve on (like the old fordham ones but with plastic nozzle ) its still weeping as bowl is gradually filling when not in use , Is there any thing to put inline to reduce pressure to this spur ?
Better than mine I hope:

Anyway, despite going on in good conditions, 0.51 liberator and 3lts defy has turned out to be mediumly rubbish. How's everyone else's?
Grass-Weed Control Key Considerations
Perhaps more than any other application, risk management is a key consideration when applying pre-emergence herbicides.
Neither the crop nor weed has emerged, so decisions around risk are required to manage the field appropriately to the conditions and...
Is there any data any one has handy or experience that shows how different drilling dates effects blackgrass. Got a bit of medium/heavy ground that I’m leaving as late as a dare 😬😬and I’m thinking this might be late enough.
I presently rent an acetylene cylinder, an oxygen cylinder and a MIG welding gas cylinder.
The charges are ramping up noticeably and are now costing me more than a quid a day for very occasional but convenient use.
I need to do welding for which I could go back to rods, I sometimes need to heat...
We have done most of our spraying with billericay bubble jets @100 ltrs /ha as it suited field size but we have just changed to a bigger sprayer with 5 way rotating nozzle holders but with only one set of nozzles fitted
What nozzles would you recommend and what rates are you using
The brief: convert a 2015 'Redcad' sprayer with existing RDS-34i spray rate control and Hypro 'Duo React' twin line nozzles on air (6x4m sections), to ideally RTK (NTRIP) auto steer and GPS section control.
I'm happy to keep the RDS-34i rate controller, but I'm wondering if Field IQ could...
The biggest problem in Spraying is blockages, no farmer or operator would like to admit to it we all know it occurs, I have decided to tackle this problem with my Free-Flow device, it's a very simple design it allows the blockages to be reduced in size, so it can be disposed of through the...
Need something relatively simple to cover approx 3500 acres in total per year.
24m booms with some sort of section control as fields not massive and can be odd shapes.
Budget circa £15k
No idea these days but quite liked the look of a JD 732i looked at recently but everything looks so complex...
Hi. I see some this side of the Irish sea saying liquid fertilizer means they can reduce the total nitrogen used. I have done a small bit of melting urea and applied through fertilizer nozzles but at same rate as if it was solid fert.
Was at ploughing match and there was a stand for liquid fert...
Are blue ones worth it? Any better than white light?
Single lights at start of boom pointing along the nozzles, or 'strip' type lights along the whole boom length?
