In a year where cereal crops will be hungry thanks to suboptimal conditions, plus continued nervousness around conventional input prices and supply, interest in alternative products continues to rise. CPM learns how biostimulants can help...
We have been ploughing digestate down prior to sowing winter crops for years and have occassionally topdressed spring crop in May with digestate as well, however we have very little experience of applying it on winter crop in early spring. We normally retain most of our digestate for grassland...
What would you like from SFI for a late Xmas gift. I include CS because they will merge in time.
My wish is an annual payment for a commitment to keep good drystone walls maintained. I've a feeling in my water that I'm going to be lucky.
To be greedy (it is my thread) I'd like to see some...
Hi, new farmer here! I am trying to find a digital tool that will help me pick which fertiliser to use (ideally beyond just NPK % recommendations) - any suggestions?
As above really, text came through this afternoon asking for a 'farmers photo'
I rang my dealer (a lady) immediately and without preamble she said "No, I don't want an unclothed picture"
I am tempted to use one of a celebrity as we have never met and I don't want to shatter her delusions.

As per title, we've to use BASIS/FACTS qualified person if we want to use IPM plan and Nutrient management Plan for SFI.
Anyone on here offering this service?
Any approximations of fees for doing these?
BPS nearly gone, SFI announced today not worth the aggravation on an all grass farm. what’s the plan going forward for those of us producing food from cattle and sheep?
Mine is to reduce spending to an absolute minimum which won’t do the local economy particularly support industries already in...
Iv a few fields sowed with 70kg of nitrogen an acre. How long would they take to be ready to cut without any risk off cutting too early ? And also I see lots mention units per acre sowed, how many units are in a kg to know for future use ? Sorry for such small questions
Only posting this as I find it interesting. 3 different farms in 3 different counties.
All of them share the same soil type classification of Lime-rich loamy and clayey soils with impeded drainage
Each field had at least 1 lab sample taken, biggest field up to 4 samples. Lab pH results varied...
