    Sheep- what do folk feed when the grass runs out?

    What do folk usually feed to keep ewes ticking over before starting concentrates closer to lambing? We usually just fed a small amount of ewe rolls from end December start of January on, but the feed bill would be scary these days. Tried beet but it’s expensive now.

    Which of above, do people find finish lambs the best during winter months of nov, dec and Jan. Good stands of both, well fed dairy ground in Herefordshire. Will put lambs on one and ewes on other, but debating which will be better for lambs??

    Taken on a lump of heavy land it’s been barley after barley after barley and I’m sure is sick of the stuff. It’s also as tight as and needs a good pull up.
