Is it quite simple to split a 3 metre combi?
For good reasons I only have 85 & 95 hp tractors. So no chance with a combi. Is it ok to buy a combi & run the power harrow on one tractor & drill on the other? Thinking 12K budget for 3 metre combi, maybe an A frame to buy? Second hand of course.
Currently a traditional set up; plough/ heavy cultivations then drill but looking at going straight in to stubble or minimum amount of tillage.
Looking at a Claydon, are they any good…?
Cropping consists of wheat, barley, oats, maize & grass but obviously would only be for cereal crops.
Loads of Parsley piert covering the ground of the osr. Would prefer to just go in with Astrokerb in a while but has no information on control of Piert.
Being suggested to use Belkar now, but that will just add another cost. Will likely go in with Kerb regardless.
Anybody had experience of the...
Seriously considering the Mzuri route. Our soils are high clay content so generally quite heavy.
And I want to use it for the whole rotation and stick to the system, which entails growing maize as well as wheat/OSR/beans.
What are peoples thoughts on the system now they’ve been about for roughly...

On the 9th October Tom Bradshaw tweeted picture 1.
On the 11th October the NFU released a statement pictures 2,3 and 4 and quoted Tom Bradshaw directly.
It clearly says that the NFU have been involved for 18 months and Tom himself sits on the Red Tractor board. However Tom’s personal post...
Corteva 2023 OSR Survey results and findings
Growers have indicated a preference for longer rotations and a stronger focus on either early drilling, or a flexible approach which prioritises sowing seeds into moist soils wherever possible.
Corteva Agriscience’s survey received 250 replies and...
I have a tractor with a Starfire 3000 antenna and since a couple of months ago i started having problems with the GPS signal, it keeps dropping sf1 and going to egnos, wich i can't use for steering. The antenna has been on this tractor since new, we don't take it off except over winter. Also, it...
As above we have some heavyish land to sort out, it’s had spuds on it and headlands are largely churned to mud so won’t be drilled this autumn with anything unless we get a prolonged spell of dry weather.
what I’m thinking is probably in. Spring is to level the ruts out and plant some sort of...
Anyone else normally drilled up by now and not started.
Ditches are down and water is getting away but it's sitting on top and drains have been jetted last year etc so they should be fine.
It's like it's sat on top but there must be 6 inch of water to plough in more in places
West Lancashire...
Does anyone have a simple programme that allows any farmer to input his or her circumstances and it spits out suggested actions for highest financial return per hectacre without loss of farmed land or live stock?
Drilled a couple of fields of winter barley on Saturday and wondering wether to get them rolled tomorrow before rain Wednesday or leave till the spring. Ground conditions were reasonable but certainly not perfect for barley with the very odd damp patch. Having a glorious day today and the top...

To introduce myself: my name is Peter Martens, we operate 1900ac/760Ha of Organic land roughly 400km north west of New York City. Most of our ground is loamy though we have areas of heavy clay made up of weather shale. We have plenty of round rocks but not too many flat rocks.
We currently...

It's chuffing windy
I want to go drilling.
I have some big weeds (groundsel, thistles) but not many grassweeds in the seedbeds yet.
From memory you're only allowed 1.5lts of 360 post drilling.
Is gly with pre-ems a waste of time?
Thanks!
