Governance at Red Tractor seems to be all over the place according to these reports.
We've thought RT was out of control. Looks like it is?
Question is, is a governance review going to be good enough? Does RT need scrapping? It doesn't seem to be working very well for farmers...

I've been talking to a few groups of people and we have had an idea that is it time that the farming industry had a vote or referendum on farm assurance. Things have become too much, with Red tractor selling us down the road by signing various environmental commitments without any consultation...
Not after any arguments just generally interested in when people think is best to sell store cattle ?
Bit of background we buy calves and rear them to 9-12months old and sell as young stores as this suits our farm as we have limited land and buildings so can have a faster turn over of numbers ...
This is a slightly bizarre and definitely pointless thread but putting hay out yesterday for our dry cows and thinking what a fantastic feed it is; no plastic, no effluent, easy as pie to handle and transport, rumen friendly, cows love it.
Got me wondering; does anyone know of anyone still...
Well done to @AHDB for engaging with us all on here.
They have answered some fairly tough and agressive questions on why we should pay levies and the need for an increase in the levies.

I was thinking about having an animal slaughtered and hung, then cut up and vacuum packed by a...
Before you renew your subscription to the Rusty Tractor scheme, ask yourself 'Do I really need to join'.
I have spoken to several farmers recently who just randomly pay for RT, who suddenly realised it was pointless and have now left.
Do you just join as you believe it stops a RPA...

The NFU is backing a 20% reduction of red meat, and a cut in British food production of 50%
The NFU are in the supermarkets...
Has anyone had experience of getting one of these yet and the cost involved.I understand if not part of an assurance scheme you ll need one from the 13th of this month when selling animals destined for the food chain.
Just attended NRoSO saying spraying/spreading equipment mounted on seed drill will require operator to hold PA certificate for special equipment even if one already holds PA4G/PA4S comments please
According to Farmers weekly Red Tractor are trying to bring in the Greener Farm Commitment (GFC) to help supermarkets meet commitment they have signed up to under the “WWF Basket” https://www.fwi.co.uk/business/shocking-cost-of-red-tractors-green-module-revealed
But how many of us know what...
