How many hours in a standard working day?

Genuine question, and I know that I'll get a thousand different answers. What is a "standard" working day to you, or your staff, on your farm? How many hours? On a run of the mill day - not lambing/calving/harvest/silage etc For reference, I'm thinking 800ac, mixed beef/sheep/arable, modern...

    Machinery price discussion .

What’s the longer term view of what is going to happen with prices? I’ve been around a few dealer yards over the last week or so and generally they all seem to be trying to reduce stock levels. They are reluctant to trade things in and the amount of times I’ve heard ‘you’d be better off selling...

    Edinburgh Airport

An article in Sunday Times about the development of Edinburgh Airport. I was interested to read passenger numbers pre covid had a peak of 14'000'000 and 2023 was the first year to beat that at 14'700'000. The really interesting bit was after developments passenger numbers are going to be...

What can we all agree on...?

Any number of threads on here reveal how much we disagree on whatever subject is under discussion. This makes me wonder if there is anything we all agree on, hopefully there are many. Clearly it won't be likely to be regarding religious things, clearly it won't be regarding Brexit or the EU...

    Ifor brake repair

I have an old ifor LT85G 10x5' flatbed. It's a handy trailer but not used much. Anyway the brakes are knackered and not sure if repair is worthwhile or even doable. How hard is it to replace the backplate? It would really need backplates, shoes and cables. Possibly new wheels. Worth doing?
