Looking at buying a round baler. We mainly do Hay And Straw But also a fair bit of silage. Want to do a fair bit of contracting so want a fairly reliable baler.
Just wondering would a chopper be suited. Roughly 5k budget.
Would it cut a round bale tidy ,on the round to make a 2 ft wide bale ,
so you had a 4 ft high bale 2 ft wide ,bale 🤔🤔
or any ideas on any thing out there do do so
I’m looking at getting myself a round baler. Only covering about 75 acres straw and 50 acres grass/ hay of my own
Just wondering what would be a good make / model to consider, ideally bale hay as 4fts and straw 5fts.
New Holland seem quite good value, John Deere 590’s / welfare’s seem to...
I currently own and run a Rollant 374 rc which has been almost faultless so far. I‘m looking for views and thoughts off anyone who owns or who has driven the new 540rc. I’m well aware that Mchale is probably the best round baler and I have driven several Mchale balers from the,F550 to the latest...
I have a Claas Rollant 374rc which so far has been fairly trouble free apart from the bill hook(not sure if that's the right word) sticking up and not resetting when the tailgate is opened. I've tried adjusting the Allen screw on the actuator in a bit tighter for more pressure but it still...
I'm shopping for a baler, don't have a lot of baling to do and will likely upgrade in a few years but to start with I need something under £5k that's a good machine. Don't mind a bit of work to get it right but a machine that's reliable and simple would be good. Bear in mind that although I have...
Had a local man ask if I’ll round bale Some hay for him, what do people charge? Don’t want to rip him off as he’s good with me but I have no idea what price people charge as we only ever do our own. Standard rounds with net wrap.
cheers
Looking at an old 550 round baler just for doing 100 or so silo bales Round home so don’t want any thing fancy but ideally wanted the bales chopped I’ve found a good net wrap JD550 but it didn’t have knives in it I’ve found knives online just wondering can you buy knives and put them in to or do...
I'm going to change my way of doing this, lm going to treble wrap every bale, in stead of just the top ones and lm going to buy a soft hands and build them on there ends, lm fed up with pick top bales with crows, has anyone tryed those plastic owls and do they work.
Looking for an older baler ( low end budget) ideally net wrap over string, will be mainly doing 4ft hay bales and barley straw. Nothing fancy, just finding conventional bales more of a hassle now.
Presume looking at Claas Rollant, welgar, older jd’s etc.
Any pointers or any for sale ....
much...
