Just been contacted by a neighbour who wants to buy 200 or so 4’ wheat round bales but I’ve no idea what is a reasonable price each this year. Location is north Glos.
Any indication would be appreciated.
Hello folks,
I'm debating whether I should be buying a quad such as a Yamaha Grizzly/Kodiak 700 or a (larger?) 4wd compact tractor. I only have experience with quads so I know it's limitations.
A new bike costs about €16,000 here at present.
The land I have suits a bike better overall. A fair...
Picked up a few 4x4 round hay bales today. Out of curiosity how many small square bales are in one 4x4 round bale? Sure someone has done the maths. Cheers
Went to a sale on Monday looking for hay , not much in but there was some nice haylage in 4 footers , just thought 357kg was heavy for that stuff , am I out of touch ?
They were well baled
Saw a wagon and drag today carrying rectangular bales not the big Hestons the next size down.
He had one strap across the front tier from right to left. On wagon and drag.
And one diagonally across back of wagon and one diagonally across bag of drag .
That was it .
4 straps . Crazy .
What rate should shifting round bales silage be ? Think per hour per machine is fairest than per bale given the distance will change . Telehandler then tractor trailers holding 14 each. Farmers fuel . £35/40 per hour each machine & man ?
Not a problem I’ve come across as any issues have been sorted, but….

Hi all,

sileage it struggles and if its a slightly heavier bale it wont lift it at all. I tested the hydraulic pressure and...
I know this maybe the wrong place for this question but there’s no doubt a few of the above are scraping out ditches and doing the odd drainage repair around the farm.
Any experiences with either would be interesting as I’m thinking of parting with my McConnell PA8 for something a bit more...
Finally managed to cut our new red clover rye grass ley today. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on making a good job of it. It’s going to be put into round bales. Is there any difference to straight grass silage. TIA.

We're thinking about slatting a shed for sheep, approximately 100ft x 28ft. Plan is to make a 4ft deep tank, two rows of columns going the length of the tank with concrete beams sitting on the columns along the length and so the fibreglass supports go across the width of the tank in 3 spans...

How have people seen baling and wrapping charges change this year.
