Hi lads & ladies . I am thinking of availing of the TAMS young farmer grant for a 2000g tanker & dribblebar. I have a 120hp massey 6cylinder. Is this enough power to operate a tanker that size ? Land is flat & not soft
Thanks
Have seen a few secondhand for sale. Know very little about them, do think that I probly would source the macerator and make my own to suit the tanker but just a thought this might suit as a quick start to go straight one tanker.
It seems to be the smaller ones 6.5 metre, but I haven't looked...
Hi all,
Does anyone else have trouble getting slurry to o through the dribble bar when it's thicker. It's fine on the splash plate but it's really slow through the dribble bar. Looking at it in the pit you would think its fine to go through. Is there any tips to get it going better or are they...
We got a leaflet and associated info through early this year saying as of January 1st 2023 all slurry on a farm in Scotland with over 200 cattle in total must apply slurry using a low emissions system, and there’s a grant to support this.
We’ve ordered one but I can’t say the idea fills me with...
My old muck fork is getting a bit week in the main beam, rust getting the better of it. Only use on the muck berry now, I have been using the grain bucket for mucking out sheds but find it to deep, a shallow bucket grab may be the answer. Since I been using a straw blower I don't really need a...
Looking at trialing shoes and dribble bars, but liking the look of trailing shoe. Ideally need something that can be mounted to tanker, or used on tractor as umbilical system. Used on grass land only. What would be the best brand to go for? Anybody have experiences with different brands?
I have just been accepted for the grant on a trailing shoe, however since putting in for it I have learnt that it would be too heavy for my current tanker and so am looking at either a Joskin, Hi spec or Major 2000g with a trailing shoe depending on what's in stock in time for the grant .

Evening all.at the moment have slurrykat umblical system with 3x 200 metre front section reeler and 5 x200 metre section rear reeler.rear reeler is all 5 inch on stortz .im going buying a new system and thinking of going open reeler back and front with bobbin drop out type reeler.was going to...
Currently looking at Storth, major and Slurrykat bars. Was wanting 9m but there’s a big price jump to the 9m slurrykat and major only do a 7.5 anyways.
All salesman have said 7.5m is popular. However I can’t help but think I’m going to be narrower than splash plate. Unless it’s the wrong way to...
Have to go down the umbilical dribblebar route now and need a new reel/dribblebar setup. Been using umbilical for our own use for over 10yrs now.
Been looking over the past year or so at Slurrykat and Slurryquip. Never got round to looking at Mastek. What I gathered so far from speaking at...
Right , I know this has been covered before partly by other threads. But here in NI we are in the process of having spreadplate banned in stages over the next couple of years so it's time to change systems. So on the back of a 2500gal tanker, all grassland farm, no dairy (so slurry not water)...
Hello,
I’ve whittled it down to four in my own head:
major
Hi spec
Conor
Newrock.
The 4 are coming in at roughly the same price give or take and I have them specced as closely as possible. 2.5k gallon or 2.6k gallon(major, hispec)
One thing niggling me is the way the cylinder is...
So we’re getting a 7.5m dribble bar for our tanker currently stuck between a mastek or a storth, I like the masteks macerator but not seen the guts of the storth to compare anybody running either? Replacement metal for the mastek is £1k and the storth is £140 apparently. Looked at the both today...
trying to revive the ni milk price thread from the other forum which has nearly died, we differ from the rest of the uk in that most of our raw milk is "exported" to ireland and with brexit, europe what this holds for us. also most of our dairy products are exported which leaves us very exposed...
