Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts on these drills? Seem to have been around for a few years now and not much info or opinions out there on them.
They appear to be a decent drill, and individual coulter depth is a big positive, but always good to hear opinions...
Not for the first time have I read of a direct drill comparison and found the best margins were obtained by quite a large percentage by a more conventional approach. ( This weeks FW )
Is it possible that DD and cover cropping can work and can be successful but if you are not bothered about being...

Is any piece of machinery more innovative than the drill? As manufacturers persevere to perfect the key tools in crop establishment, a raft of new machines have hit the market. CPM gets the lowdown from manufacturers.

Looking into using an accord type drill as a starting point, building a frame to sit underneath it, removing all the coulters and then mounting direct tines to the new heavier frame underneath. Looking at tines, looks like you can go with the weaving sabre tine, or the metcalfe tines which seem...
Posted this in cropping but realised it should be here! My mistake!
Looking for some advice on the following please.
How would strip tillage, ie using a Claydon, Sumo DTS, McConnell seedaerator type drill vs a more low disturbance type of drill such as a Sky Easydrill work with the following...

A word of caution….
I sold my 2015 Amazone UX3200 sprayer a few weeks ago because it had done 70,000 acres and it was also tactically the right thing to do from a deprecation/tax point of view.
i bought it new, and I can honestly say it never once let me down. Ever.
I wanted a new Amazone...
Direct Driller Christmas 2022
Well here we are again! It’s the end of November and as I sit down on a wet Sunday afternoon to write this article at 3.35pm its getting dark outside! Yesterday we heard of the very sad loss of Scottish rugby great Doddy Weir to MND after a brave and long battle...
Weighing up our options, currently running a 7310r as our prime mover but we only really need the power for 3 months of the year. Thinking a 6250r with the new hyd boost may be a more versatile option? Needs to be able to pull a 6m horsch sprinter on 5"dutch coulters well which is about as hard...
Well I guess it’s time to start another annual thread about how peoples crops are looking at the start of the year.
All pics taken today.
Generally I’m pretty happy at present other than one but of rape that looks a bit thin in places thanks mainly to pheasants🙄

Does anyone know how the old Moore unidrills compare with the new red ones. I know they have the small metal wheels to roll in the ground behind the discs whereas the new ones often have a packer roller. Has anyone retrofitted an old Moore Unidrill with a packer roller rather than the metal wheels?
TRANSITION EXPERIENCES GIVE GROUNDSWELL GUIDANCE
Transitioning to more regenerative regimes hasn’t been entirely plain sailing for three growers with very different soils and situations who shared their experiences at a packed Agrii Green Horizons seminar at this year’s Groundswell.
However...
Hi I’ve ordered a 6R185 for next spring, the tractor will be mainly pulling a 4M Trailed drill just wondering will the hydraulic fan on the drill be enough to activate the boost. The book says it’s available for hydraulic applications. Salesman didn’t really give a clear yes or no. Any current...
In the time I have been a reader of Direct Driller Magazine, I have learnt a lot from the magazine’s content. While at the fantastic Groundswell event, Chris Fellows persuaded me to write a contribution to the magazine, which I am more than happy to do to give something back, so here is my...
This is a story I would like to share with you. I am a farmer from North-West of Ukraine with 2500 acres of arable land. It`s a family-run business raising mostly corn, soybeans, sunflowers, rapeseeds and winter wheat. Personally, I am in charge of agronomy, farm inputs and sales. This year, I...
Hi all,
First time poster, long time reader! Looking to transition my farm slowly towards a 8m CTF system. Just hoping to hear from anyone running the same, and whether there is anything I should particularly be aware of before going down this route? I guess learnings from running this system...
