Hi Folks.
I have just acquired a Votex 6ft Rotary Topper.(I still want a flail topper)
I have to admit I know next to nothing about toppers but on initial inspection this one appear to be quite well made and pretty sound. The tinwork will require a bit of fettling but other than that it seems...

I am looking for a approx 1.8mtr flail topper and think I have settled on either a Del Morino or a Winton.
Has anybody got any experience with either of these makes good or bad.
Hi,
I have a small paddock to cut. I’ve got a 90hp John Deere 6300 but don’t need a large , more expensive topper/flail for what I need. So thinking a 6ft topper or flail? Will tractor be too big for that size?
What’s the smallest size topper/flail I could put on tractor?
Has anyone used a topper to cut hay? We have a compact tractor with a D W Tomlin topper, which you can adjust the skids to cut at 25mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm
Any suggestions at what height I should set the topper at, is 25mm to low?
I tried a small partial of our field and the tractor did...
Dad died at the start of this month after a long lifetime farming. He started out on his own in 1966 and kept a log of all his capital purchases from the start until he died (at 89).
Attached is a pdf of the log. It makes for an interesting historic document...

Have a 6ft Fleming semi offset topper that's in its last legs, thinking of upgrading to a 9ft inline one.
Anyone have any experience of them. Just needed to get stemmy grass topped after grazing in summer and probably so light rushes
Semi offset can leave some lines where wheel tramples...
I currently run an old trailed kv straw bedder its never been the best of machines and straw often builds up and gets caught in the spout which i have to stop and pull out every so often, ive had it 8yrs now and looking to buy a new bedder what should i go for? Any suggestions?

Got a job on the go that's not really thread worthy?
Not a QFB&C?
Not quite a NQFEorAQB?
Whatever it is, show us what you're working on today, TFF.
I'm desperately trying to revive the aircon system on my newly purchased Same but it's snowballing a bit (I probably shouldn't have bothered with...

I’m on the look out for a cheap straw chopper to chop straw for the feeder wagon to save time. Something cheap and simple to chop and blow into a heap, thinking a teagle drum model or similar but how short do they chop it? The shorter the better really
Anyone putting clamp silage through a bale unroller? Seen the sheep man from Orkney doing it on YouTube. Looked to work but couldn’t see what machine he was using exactly. Don’t want a feeder wagon and not keen to go round bales. Looking for a simple way of feeding clamp silage either on a...

Having been berated about the price of lamb and how people need to pay more for it, if us Peasants are to continue in business producing these lambs, I thought I would start a thread about what could or should be done to reduce the costs that many of us have.
Many of these costs are out of our...
