Guy along the road got a new sprayer this week, he's spraying rushes etc on his farm, but l can bet he's not got a licence or what ever you need to use it or does grandfather rights still count if its only used on your farm.
Is it ok to use MCPB on the spring pea variety prophet and if so does it need 4L/ha? I’ve found the Tropotox label on line but it doesn’t mention prophet peas. I wasn’t aware that some varieties can be more sensitive to MCPB than others but I have some thistle patches to knock back.
Hi all, taken on some new ground after being left for a year by previous tenant but them not agreeing to leave. A lot of the fields are full of docks/redshank like I've never seen before, some spots of thistle coming now and few spots off nettles. wondering what the best would be to do? Burn it...
I am hoping to get my WB mixture and some Bumblebird mix in later this week now we have finally had some rain. :)
I had a walk around yesterday and am disappointed at the outcome of 5l/ha of 360 generic with additive on some land used last year for similiar crop. Nettle and creeping thistle is...
Apologies for the long post...So I rent 40 acres of grass (all year round) a couple of miles from the farm so quite handy, for sheep grazing. I have a further 14 acres from the same people as grass keep from April 1st until October 31st. I take the sheep off mid September though as don't want...
afternoon all,
just finished my project weed wiper which I’m more than chuffed with ( pics to follow) what brand glypho do you guys opt for? I’ve a few gallons of clinicace 360g/l in the store. Or am I better buying roundup 460g/l, I’ve been told it has to be the genuine roundup active. And...
Just wondering if anyone is successful in broadcasting cover crops into standing crop pre harvest. We are at 36m, is anyone doing it at that width, and also has it proved a successful method of establishment?
Cheers
I've just noticed some small plants, about primrose size that look like ragwort in a wooded part of the farm near a stream. Not the tall stemmy jobs you would expect but fully in flower. Is there a kind of junior version? I'll keep an eye on it over the year. So far off limits from animals.

Hi All,
This has likely been discussed ad infinitum but here we go again as I can't seem to find a relaxant thread on the subject.
When to apply 20-10-10 to grassland now that T sum 200 is no longer published?
OK conventional wisdom states "March time" but is there anything more scientific out...

I’ve got a problem with large cranesbill in winter barley. The barley was direct drilled into wheat stubble which had received 4L/ha glyphosate a few days prior to drilling. Unfortunately it would appear that large cranesbill won’t die from glyphosate.
I’ve now got dinner plate sized cranesbill...
I'm having a few panels blast and resprayed on my 818. Can anyone tell me what the ral code is for the grey paint that is used on the body panels and chassis.
Couple of conversations on TFF last few days have had people thinking about farm inputs.
Are the best inputs "coiled up" , "in a tin" , "home grown" , or should they just "fall from the sky" ?
What's your best input?
I think water pipe and electric fencing.
Good afternoon, I've been a long term follower of the farming forum, as a new start some of the things I've learnt have been truly priceless.
One thing that has struck me though, is every so often I will find a word, term or phrase that I'm just not 100% on what it means. This isn't limited to...
Strange situation this afternoon on our walks fairly clean old grass ley we sprayed the start of this year with PasTor noticed a singular bean plant had established itself, thought nothing more of it, then spent four hours pulling beans from over an 8 acre field ( multiples of beans in one spot)...
