I needed some oil for the back end of my Kubota after a few days of tipping muck with the leaky old dump trailer.... I know, I know! I should fix it, but it will an absolute ballache! So as it was raining, I popped into Shrewsbury to Battlefield Tractors and asked for and received a 20l drum...

    Compact Valtra 50K

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. I am on the look out for a 4 cylinder Valtra with a loader, 50K and air. N121 or there abouts. Budget is around £35k (possibly a bit optimistic!) Finding lots in recently sold sections of websites but nothing else that fits the bill. I would consider...

    Mig welder advice please.

I'm fairly competent at arc welding but have never used a mig or know anything about them. Are these cheap sub £100 ones any good? I don't see me doing much with it but I do need to fix a hole in the exhaust of an old tractor here so I've taken it in my head to do it myself because I can't do a...

    Septic Tank & BC

My current septic tanks leachfield has failed, my garden is tiny and we think the leachfield goes under my neighbours drive into the farmers field. The tank is a fiberglass klargester onion shaped one and has been in for over 20 years. Someone has been out and said by the time you dig a new...

    Alternator fault

Anyone had an alternator in the last 18 months and the unit fail? Our NH has had a genuine alternator on for 500hrs and the bearing behind the pulley has gone and the dealer says it’s out of warranty by 2 month and won’t exchange it. I know it is out of warranty but 500hrs work shouldn’t be...

What would one expect from a 2nd hand machinery purchase.

Not really had much experience in buying machines myself, but took delivery of 2 machines this last month. Both 10 years old. Not a massive money either of them but both priced about right from what I see. Both from dealers. Couple of niggles with them now. But what would be peoples...

    Secondhand Toyota Landcruiser buying.

Been looking at Landcruisers to replace a TD5 Disco who’s chassis is having to be welded up again. Swayed towards a 100 series 4.2 diesel owing to its higher 3.5 ton towing capacity, are these a good buy and is there anything to be careful of, mindful these are now approaching 20 years old?

    Fastrac 4220 towing ability

Following my thread regarding the disappointing performance of my Claas arion 650 when towing recently, I come to you again with a question for fastrac owners. Regularly towing near the maximum legal weight is becoming the norm more and more, and the fastrac appeals to me for many other reasons...
