Amazone and horsch look the obvious choices any others to check out?
Pros/cons over a trailed sprayer?
Currently got a trailed 3200lt GMR but it's heavy to pull up hills for traction first time through.
155mm here in March, so far.
Agronomy now facing an unfortunate combination of surface waterlogging and subsoil moisture deficiency, with current root death likely to restrict scarce moisture uptake later on.
Combining that with last autumn's much higher cost base and next harvest's lower...
Not for the first time have I read of a direct drill comparison and found the best margins were obtained by quite a large percentage by a more conventional approach. ( This weeks FW )
Is it possible that DD and cover cropping can work and can be successful but if you are not bothered about being...

I wanted to canvas opinion on systems that qualify under the farming equipment and technology fund FETF 50 (variable rate controller for sprayer) to give me section control.
I've asked the company that looks after my sprayer and they don't seem responsive (perhaps don't know?) and tried several...
I was always told that February nitrogen flattens crops.
RB209 recommends nothing until the start of stem extension, and not before early April, unless it has low tiller numbers.
Yet everybody else seems to start chucking it on now and their crops look strong and green where as mine look crap...
Hi,
looking to get higher capacity on my sprayer.
My agronomist say i should buy a bigger sprayer, but after i got a few quotes, i think i would rather try to work with what i have.
Today i use 025 lechler idkt, 150 liters/ha water on everything except fungicide in grain and osr where we use...
Hi,
Tried last year to install the forward speed sensor on a Fastrac 155-65, for a RDS 34 controller (GEM Sprayer). I must have got it very wrong as the drive shaft chewed up the sensor!
Anyone got a guide as to how to install these?
Thanks
A word of caution….
I sold my 2015 Amazone UX3200 sprayer a few weeks ago because it had done 70,000 acres and it was also tactically the right thing to do from a deprecation/tax point of view.
i bought it new, and I can honestly say it never once let me down. Ever.
I wanted a new Amazone...
I know this sounds absurd.
Just under 200 acres.
How difficult can it be?
But now we are required to be “qualified” in every aspect from agronomy, fertiliser planning, driving various bits of machinery etc and to attend ongoing training to gain CPD points I really just don’t have time to do...
Thinking of changing my trailed sprayer to an SP, I’ve seen a used Knight 1835, 2011, with around 5k hours on. I don’t know anyone whose had or driven one.
Any opinions please, and if I go to look at it, what should I look for?
N.B. I’m also looking at Househam AR’s and Sands Horizons, which...
Haven't grown osr in quite a few yrs but have some in this season.
I use a tractor and mounted sprayer and wondering what's best to cover up bottom of tractor and sprayer to minimise damage later in the season?.
Thinking I will take puh off as it catches alot and maybe tie a tarpaulin/lorry...
Evening guys and gals. Something to ponder over and see what you think.
We run a JD962i trailed sprayer and we are wondering how to go about putting a separate tank on it to spray the wheeling/tramlines with glyphosate to reduce the amount of green in the tramline swath at harvest. Thinking of...
