Are there any specifics for a tractor to use for a road tractor test other than the normal things? 140hp claas on 520 tyres so small compared to most tractors these days. Obviously number plate, all lights working etc anything else?

When is the time to confront the elephant in the room ?

Our action to negate or slow global warming is clearly not going fast enough. I don't point the finger at the UK exclusively, we are far from the worst offenders, however in general, are we doing enough ? Looking at Agriculture alone, currently social media is full of pictures of tractors...

Is the end nigh for Eastern Bloc tractors?

Written by Justin Roberts from Agriland Tractors manufactured in the old Eastern Bloc never enjoyed the ‘rosiest’ of reputations in the west. Often considered outdated and unreliable, brands from behind the iron curtain struggled to gain credibility away from their home markets. This was not...

MF 390 engine oil level rising

The engine oil level on my 1995 MF 390 18-6 Speedshift seems to be creeping up! This is while the tractor is just standing in the shed. It hasn't been used much since an oil and filter change on 7th June (to set a correct oil level) but the level has steadily crept up by about 6 or 7mm in 4...

    I remember when.............

All this canter about electronics, powershift transmissions, computer control etc just makes me smile when I cast my mind back to 1966 when a new Nuffield 10/60 arrived to boost a fleet of 460's. My Gosh - 10 gears instead of 5 just with another lever! Whatever will they think of next?

Another Class 44 baler question, or two (maybe not the last).

The baler as dropped in my shed for a tidy up and a new chain and tensioner tube (218 quid inc vat, 75 quid for the tube alone) has two hydraulic pipes, a D socket and a road light socket. It has the factory net wrap. Should there be an in-cab control box, if not how is is bale wrapping...
