The lack of insurance is due to an admin error, not deliberate.Who is at fault is hard to work out, the owner paid his premium for a service he did not receive, so the insurance company is at blame here, unless they were given incorrect details. The office sec did not check the paperwork on receipt, but could she be expected to know the reg number of every vehicle on the fleet? The driver did not check the insurance before driving on the road, but, how many of you do, and even if you do, the insurance company can remove cover at a whim, and inform you by post, which can, and often does take several days to arrive, so documents held at the office may be days out of date!
In my view, if the correct details were furnished to the insurance company, they should be in the dock.
