Just worked out on last tank of fuel my D -max has done 27 M.P.G,.
To be fair that is on short journeys delivering firewood.
What sort of MPG are you getting from your 2.5td D-max or similar?
Thanks for any replies

65 reg Navara D40, 2.5 litre too; computer shows 32 mpg, manually calculated at 31 mpg. Some towing included in that tank full too. I don’t have a particularly light right foot either...

I used to get around that on the D40 as well. The np300 that replaced it is slightly better, at 34 so far. Its early days, hopefully it will get better as it loosens up. These are clock fiures, not calculated

2.5 litre Ford Ranger normally 29mpg but managed 17mpg a few days ago with full livestock trailer pulling hard for 150 miles. My old land cruiser used to do 18mpg (4 litre) pulling livestock trailer at similar speed. I conclude that pulling a livestock trailer is like towing a concrete block through treacle.
It is going to cost you.

23-25. Large majority of which is heavy towing.

I’ve got a 14 plate DMAX, usually all back roads within 3 mile and with 50% pulling trailer full of lambs around it does around 27-28mpg, I went on a 710 mile journey (600 mile on motorways) last weekend and it averaged 38mpg.

14 plate Hilux Invincible 3.0 litre auto.
Last tank averaged 24.1mpg on the computer and worse(23.1) than that when worked out brim full to brim full.
All short journeys, longest trip probably 7 miles.
Like the truck, bit must admit I'm disappointed with it on the fuel.

I bought my dads DMAX off him in September, he only used it as a car and was getting 42 MPG out of it, I reset the clock when I had it and only get 30 now. But I do a lot of pulling with it and driving around banks checking sheep.

14plate DMax here does 29mpg average - very mixed work. 2mpg better than the rodeo before it and 7mpg better than the Ford Ranger before that.

Not towing I never get below 30 and it has averaged 33mpg for the first 15k of its life - calculated on a phone app tank to tank
Mpg is great on mine
Light touch on throttle works best [emoji16]

Is that a 3.0 auto Hilux??

I've not long got this one, nice pickup, never pulled or been off road before I got it. Mine does a lot of short cold runs so I guess that's the problem, but the old Ranger I had before was doing the same, it wasn't great on fuel either but it was a pretty old school style engine in it. Did think it might do high 20s though.
Lad down the road from me can get 40 mpg plus out of his L200 on any half decent trip.
