‘step’ before feeding stall, please advice

Hello.

I have some questions about feeding stall design on my right now building farm. I have so called ‘Steps’ before feed barier. See pictures below. I can not find any info, is it bad for cows, good or neutral? Will cows be comfortable eating on such step? Also sorry, dimensions in in centimeters..

What are your dimensions of the step? Do cows feel comfortable eating? For me its the same reason, step is for protecting steel, but im worrying about cows…

Like @Will Blackburn , I have a step, it’s about 50mm high and long enough so cows can stand on it easily with front feet, planned so auto scrapers don’t interfere with front legs when feeding.
Been in 3 winters, no issues.

What lenght approximately it is? For me step is going to be around 120mm height, and about 40cm lenght, i wondering if its allright for cows..
