I have been known to say I’d be better off selling the stock and machinery, putting the money into buy to let houses, renting the land and buildings out and going to drive for a contractor.

Couldn’t agree more but I just thought maybe someone would have a niche idea I’d never thought of........ a farmer once said to me “what if you offered a feeding up service” ...... probably wouldn’t work but every now and again a crazy idea can be a good one.

(Based on the fact you can’t get it done or if you find someone it’s incredibly expensive)

If I was a contractor, I'd get rid of the Deere's and replace them with Case IH and Valtra's...???

Delphine is brilliant and comparable to UK prices. Proper crush that's built into the transit and tips flat so all 4 feet at waist height. Needs 3 phase. She's been here and let me know if you want her number.
Edit, I used to do my own, got a trimming crush , but back and hips mean I have to get the professionals.

I do the same haha must be all the riding round different farms seeing different setups/ what works and what doesn’t work...

If I was a dairy farmer I would actually stir my slurry lagoon up fully the day before the contractor arrived to pump my slurry... make sure the stirrer tractor was full of diesel with a few spare shear bolts on the cab floor... open all the gates on the way to the fields they’re spreading and go round the day after they’ve been closing all the gates ?

Often, when out with friends, conversation will briefly be on the affairs of a friend who isn't present. Not in a bitchy or critical mood, it is often questioned why they don't do things slightly differently.
If there are good ideas, I try to remember to pass them on and often ask what might be said about me in my absence, but haven't ever been told of anything yet!
Given the privileged position of seeing many similar farmers, farming similar areas, you should be offering an advisory service....... you will have a good idea of what actually works well by looking in the sheds and knowing how quick they can pay!

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] we tend to give farmers 3/4 days notice with slurry sometimes isn’t always possible but we try to in the hope they stir the lagoon up and are actually ready haha never see many stirrers on before we’ve started pumping though ??‍[emoji85]
