“New” tractor dilemma

Dad and I are starting to think about buying an extra tractor for the business, currently running 3 tractors an International 674, a Massey 5445 and a JD 6330. The International currently runs a log processor full time doing 6-700hrs a year and the plan would be to move it to semi retirement and use the Massey (currently loader tractor) for the log processor. But our main dilemma is do we buy a dedicated loader tractor to replace the current Massey or do we move the 6330 to loader tractor (we already have the loader for it) and buy a replacement for it, possibly something larger and with suspension for doing field work and contracting? Main jobs would be mowing , baling and slurry spreading, as well as other field work as we currently do everything in house. If we did go down the loader tractor route it would still need to have enough power to run baler and mower in case of break downs.

If it were me I’d buy a value for money 6 cylinder of about 150 hp. It will transform your field work with very little effort.
That’s makes sense to me, wouldn’t be working a bigger tractor right on its limit either.
If you’ve got 3 phase electric buy an electric power pack to run your processor, you’ll never look at putting a tractor on it again.
Sadly we don’t, did look at that option before but the cost of getting a connection and the price of electric at the time made it unviable.

Aye something that kinda size would be ideal, loader id take it or leave it already got 2 loaders. Would think somewhere around 30-40 but might go a bit higher for the right machine.

Before I give any comments I would like to know some details about the log processor as I am not familiar at all with this machine…
Obviously 3 point linkage mounted
Or is it?
Is everything driven from pto?
How much driving does it take?
Might think of something else

It is 3 pt but built into a shed and only time it will come out is when it’s changed. Everything is pto driven, 75hp will drive it fine, 90hp wouldn’t know it was there.
Why retire the IH off the processor if it does the job? Another 600hrs a year on a younger tractor will quickly mount to a very nice depriciation hit!!! 674 will be worth the same with 7k hours or 14k!!!
The tractor we’re thinking of putting on it won’t depreciate much maybe 2-3k max over the next 5 years. IH will still be used in summer, giving us an extra tractor for silage ect.

Not particularly, you see plenty tractors running on to 15-20k hours without many issues so long as you keep on top of the maintenance.

What I say will be no use to you at all
If I was in similar position I would look into possibility of fitting stationary engine to processor
By the way which pto shaft do you use on 674?

Will you help clear snow?
