“The animal agriculture industry is not long for this world”

A Thousand times this^

Animal agriculture uses natural and renewable resources.

All those claiming their products are 'better' than meat should have to give some precise figures of the water, energy, ingredients etc that they use so they can be scrutinised and properly compared.
I'm very confident that most don't know and don't want to know, they just argue that it is better because it reduces the use of meat and that's what the 'experts' advise.

The Swedish “Oumph! Burger” (by God I’m starting to loathe that country) lists Soya has the main ingredient

Of course it is Roger. I’m not sure whether you are aware or not, but a significant percentage of the U.K. population is absolutely f**king stupid. And as if we didn’t have enough, we welcome the terminally stupid to our shores as well.

Then they breed so we can have native stupid mixed with foreign stupid creating fantastic hybrid vigour and new super strains of spectacular batshit mental stupidity, many of whom get themselves into positions of authority and even government.

I’m starting to think I’m way too sensible to live here. And if you knew me then you would know that things must be bad.
Youre welcome over here any time mate !! We need quality imports to try and stem the flow of woke nonsense that threatens to overwhelm us . Oh and a bit of competion in the lime job would be no harm either:):):)

Few people out there driving with their headlights off. Meat and dairy consumption on the rise world wide.

There is a lot wrong yet with fake food and the longer it’s around the more it will come to light. There is a lot of money behind it because it has the potential to become extremely profitable. No other reason than that.

Unfortunately there is here and we are an exporting nation that relies on exporting animal products, be that milk products or meat.
How did it turn so quickly for you?

When I was over in 2002/03, I would’ve stayed if situation at home was different. NZ was, and still is I assume, miles ahead of us in tech and innovation, yet you seem to have had a rapid and very successful uprising of anti-ag politicians and attitude.

For a country who’s primary incomes are agri exports and tourism (which has been shut down for over a year), the current political direction makes absolutely no sense.

I feel like I’m missing something, what is Jacinda Hardon’s grand plan?

You couldn’t get a much more efficient and environmentally benign source of energy than the giant solar power station that is grass fed livestock especially where you have clover leys Feedstock is carbon dioxide and sunlight. Win win, all recycled including incidental methane.
But instead of that the powers that be envisage what? Biochemical rector vessels powered by …..? Feedstock is ,,,,,,,,? All of this nonsense will consume yet more resources, generate yet more waste all to provide a very poor imitation of a natural product that is shrewdly here. tried and tested. It’s called meat. Nothing wrong with it. Carry on.
Yes we all know that, BUT the public are being bombarded by a different story, keep saying the same tale and sooner or later people believe, wanted to fight back NOW, only today I went into the body shop with my wife, this store was started by amanda Roderick as an eco friendly company, in their stores they have pictures of the world with flames coming out of it saying help us save the planet and yet they leave their doors wide open losing heat all day long and causing extra CO2 emissions, I asked the store manager why they were wasting heat, her response was that customers wouldnt come into the store if they had to open it, I said you don't care about global warming just profit, they also buy their products all round the world claiming in doing so they are helping small poor producers, in a way they are but they are helping themselves to higher profits than if they made stuff here and would save more CO2 if they did . ALL these companies are only interested in profit, just like the claims to be CO2 neutral it's a con, we need to fight back

Thanks.

I have no issue with straight forward vegetarian burgers where its various vegetables squat together but fake meats require a huge amount of processing in their creation which is largely overlooked when assessing their environmental credibility.
Just look at the figures for energy, water and palm oil use in making quorn.

Summer set
Farming farty cows and sheep has a good future and is here to stay.
Unless raising livestock is made illegal there will always be a
customer base for meat and milk.
Vegan/environmental propaganda will die to death when health issues arise eating artificial gloop and people start getting hungry.

NZ is miles ahead in terms of tech and innovation, always has been, which is why we have had such a vibrant and successful primary sector for so long, unfortunately we have a growing number of people in this country that are falling for the anti ag propaganda from the popular press.

Our main foreign income earner of tourism has taken a massive hit and will be years before it recovers, leaving agriculture and horticulture as our primary source of foreign income.

Jacindas grand plan? Looks like she is wanting to make NZ a Marxist state.

Why is it that every possible looming disaster to farming gets posted on a farming forum just to cause more gloom , more negative farming news gets posted by farmers than the people who actually want farming to end! Most possible problems never come true , farmers seem to love to worry and even more so to worry others.
That's not true because these posts are based on quotes out there in the popular public media and 'respected' news sources. This particular venture, for instance, is heavily financed and supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. What you are seeing and debating is the future and if you bury your head in the sand as to what is happening around you and where the money is going and how the public are being educated and primed, then you will be suffocated and buried by future events.

What you are in fact witnessing just now is THE NEXT BIG THING and its happening right in front of your eyes, powered by big money, wokeness and climate change [religious type] fear.

Bet you 10 quid that people are still eating meat in 15 years
Oh yes that is most probably correct. But consider what happens to farm animal rearing economics if even 15% have of sales are to alternatives while considering that beef and sheep production in the UK are on average only marginally viable in eight years out of ten even without losing that much market share. It would at that point be a very slippery slop indeed to being completely unviable, at least in the UK but probably everywhere.
Before you would know what hit you, only a precariously small niche market would remain.

None as blind as those that won't see.
I would say that 95% of the respondents on this forum that didn't see what was happening even two or three years ago have now seen the light due to the relentless anti-farm-animal and emissions propaganda we are now subject to, literally on a daily basis from all media and pseudo-scientific sources, but mostly from the woke culture who wish to find scapegoats so they THEY don't have to change their lifestyles.

You surely can't deny this because the evidence is here, right in front of your eyes, quoted and debated on a daily basis.

Did you read the last bit ? Blaming meat for deforestation
Not said by the American Agriculture Secretary. That was journalistic ad on. The Americans have the right idea agriculture is an important industry to them there's lots of lobbying going on. In the Uk agriculture does not have the same influence or it's not splashing the cash to state its case if the NFU started paying a few Tory MPs maybe things would change.
