€46000 to Cut a Hedge

Surely this must be the most expensive hedge. Limerick farmer is pouring the milk from his 24 cows into the slurry every day at a cost of €46k so far.
The tanker stopped coming until the hedge was cut back. He says it is the Council's for 84m, they say it is his hedge to maintain. So cost €500 per meter so far.
Some have strong views with principles at stake then there is a step further.....

Around here if you were waiting for the council to do anything doomsday would arrive first. People in the community need to help themselves and each other. That is what good rural folk do.

Plenty of small herds eeking a living in Ireland still I think. That’s the benefit of having a govt that supports small farms, and interprets EU rules appropriately in order to do so.

Just from reading the article on him though, he needs a swift kick up the arse.

It says in the article it would have only taken an hour for the council to do, so its probably only a ten minute job for someone else.
Just cut the bloody hedge.
Amazing the hills some folk are willing to die on.
