Been offered a very good deal on a 1.9 dmax today. Can any one Offer any experience on if they are decent and which box is better the manual or auto?

There ok does the job, not as good as pulling as a defender. But a nice enough place to sit Priti good on fuel. Got the Manuel but wish she got the auto what you leaving behind

Why do you wish you got the auto? I have a 15 plate 2.5 at the moment, wanting to shift it while it’s still worth decent money

I had a 15 plate manual 2.5 from new. Found it great 32 to 34 real world mpg towed brilliantly
Just changed it got a new 1.9 auto. Bit posher inside but basically the same. Still a good drive, auto easier to drive that manual but still not convinced always been a manual man. Seems to tow well enough doing 28 to 30 mpg but still under 1000 miles.
I think there great value for money.
Hope this helps.

Glad to hear these comments got a 2.5 and love it but not convinced by the 1.9 when towing
That was my thoughts, but at the end of the day I don’t do vast amounts of towing so it should be fine for what I do, the occasional trailer full of cows and flat trailer with 2 ton on every so often
