I agree. I noticed the machine squealing immediately and mentioned it to the dealer the next day. Not much reaction tbh. At 80hrs complained to workshop manager. He could come out right away or wait for 100hr service. I said it's not worth coming right out, it can wait a week or so.
Rang and booked the service, manager said a filter change might help, first filter maybe finer gauge. Sounds plausible I said.
Fitter comes a few days later and is only going to grease machine and wax oil boom, I said about filter, news to him he said, workshop manager has left company 😡
Another Fitter has been twice, kicked a few tyres but nobody wants to change filter. Fitter has now left company too🤣
I'm beginning to think what a shower of sh!t.

Oh, and then I got billed.
Are they due a change of franchise

I would have thought the first 50 or 100 hour service would include a quick filter change and checking the torques on at least the wheel nuts and maybe other things too. A big part of it would be a chance for the buyer and seller to talk over any snags, questions, and get any issues sorted... also that it would be free. Basically sorting anything in the service that would avoid needing a costly warranty claim further down the road if it wasn't found until a 600 hour service.

If your jcb is squealing at 80 hrs and dealer won’t do anything it’s either they are waiting for a major warranty job out of it or dont care. Either way your going to be paying fir it. I’d kick it up the food chain to either dealership managers and if they won’t do FA go to JCB direct. Sounds like the high turnover of staff is a sign that this business isn’t not many want to be associated with. Rather that let your investment deteriorate id be inclined to do the servicing myself and keep a record of the costs involved. Use genuine filters and oil from said dealer to avoid warranty issues.

Vantage would wanted it greasing 50 times in 500 hrs , ,do it every time filled with fuel and front every day
You’re right. Unfortunately not a Volvo, with taper bearings. Shame really as the 320 is a nice tool, would be even better with a dualtec box.

Volvo surely have a automatic greasing systems fitted? I can't believe anyone would order a shovel without that as an optional extra along with front and rear axle temperature sensors given the amount of road work a contractor may do.

What’s better doing the thing when it needs done or waiting weeks for dealer to come and do a service which ends up a couple of hundred hours out 🙄
The problem today is jeopardising any warranty by doing the work yourself, I,m like you will happily service it myself, that alone will save you £1000,s in the 1st 5000 hrs of a machines life. Your more likely to spot any future issues if you do it yourself.
